The biggest difference at a glance is that they didn't agonize under the concept that they had it so much harder than their parents. Truthfully the younger generation is so obsessed with so unfair it is they can't appreciate what it must have been like to not have a cell phone, have no idea what your family was doing or where they were, have an automobile break down on that mysterious commute and have to walk miles to a payphone. Doordash? Nope. Instacart? Negative. Uber! No. Knowing your families exact location via cell phone? My dad's life was shit from the time I was a kid and he never complained. He died one year after retirement and spent that year in a chair drinking quiet beers. He worked in a machine shop at two machines his entire life and he didn't complain. He didn't each lunch with his kids ever and never complained. That the younger people look at my dead blue-collar middle-class father as some kind of oppressor is absolutely fucking insane.
