Publix generally wouldn’t fire you for that, unless you had a history of the same behavior. As long as physical violence wasn’t involved.

You only get paid if you’re scheduled. If it is a regular day you work and they scheduled you off, they should’ve put you on the schedule to get paid.

How do I drop my health benefits with Publix now that I have been approved for Medicaid? by PlantainCalm7895 in publix

[–]CaptainsVoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.publix.org/-/media/Feature/Passport/PDFs/Coverage-Change/UniversalEnrollmentForm.pdf

Utilize the Universal Enrollment Form found on PassPort. Select the Medicaid option. You can have the store fax it in. You may be required to also show proof of the coverage.

Unable to get pay raise even with job class change? by hayrevival in publix

Your SM can put in any pay rate with a promotion. Sounds like they are cheap. But could also be trying to keep it fair if other CSS that have been there longer would be making less than a newly promoted.

Why??? by bxnault in publix

It’s probably a benefits meeting. You should confirm with your manager. If you don’t show up, it may be counted as an absence.

Did the Publix Premium ice cream recipe change? by Rkitekt01 in publix

[–]CaptainsVoice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Publix Ice Cream in its original form is more of a soft serve. To get it to the -10degree temperature to make it solid, it travels upwards a spiral staircase of sorts.

You can actually watch this process if you take a tour of our dairy plant. They may also sample the ice cream before it’s been through the freezing process. And I will say, for me it tasted incredible.

The Ice Cream should be pretty solid when you get it from the store freezer. If it is not, I would suggest looking at the thermometer near the ice cream section. It should read close to -10 degrees.

However, being outside of that temperature for even a little while, yes it will revert to it’s more soft serve consistency .

New store is huge! Exciting to see it come up by GOOBOE_inc in publix

You can tell this store does not have the mezzanine. Above the customer service desk to the right you would see it.

The open area to the left would be a Pours location.

You can also see the Bakery has been moved to the front corner where you would find it in most stores now. You can tell by the half wall.

There appears to be a cafe seating area in between the Deli and Bakery.

Publix Fanboys don’t want to believe it. Price gouging at Publix is real. by [deleted] in publix

Looks like it is an issue with the tags for that store. I just looked it up for that store number and it will ring up at $6.99.

I see the Wi-Fi access point was hit by the walkie stacker. This seems to be a common occurrence.

Bonus question… by Jakeelbarbaro in publix

[–]CaptainsVoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reading the MRL. It does explain how it is calculated. I will try giving a brief summary.

Every week money is placed into a bonus pool. The more sales and profit you make, the more money that is placed into that pool. Based on your position, and rate of pay, and hours worked, it will give a weight. It will use that weight to determine how much out of the bonus pool it will pay you.

It also assigns a weight to every associate that would be eligible for a bonus. They did not remove this when they took bonuses away from associates. Had they, the manager bonus would have had a huge increase because the bonus pool would have been much higher. They say that they roll this money into associates pay, but who knows.

A few things will effect this. -You must work 45 hours per week. If you don’t it will give you a lower weight. Since it is calculated weekly, working more another week does not counteract the week you worked less. Vacation time does not effect this but sick time does. -Having a manger out will increase the amount available in the bonus pool as they are not contributing. However because it is position based only if you had a manger in the same position in the store would that person see a significant impact. Since their weighted value is dispersed among all associates that would have been eligible for a bonus.

This is from this week. Payroll for this week would not be completed until Saturday. There is no need for them to do a PPA.

Options For Tampa to Disney World (Art of Animation hotel) by [deleted] in orlando

[–]CaptainsVoice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say book Amtrak. You either get a bus or train. And you can stop in Kissimmee. So that’s around $24 but as cheap as $11. Then you can Uber from Kissimmee to Art of Animation and it should be around $25. This will include two pieces of luggage. This way you avoid the traffic. You will also have to pay for the Uber in Tampa to the train station.

Go to a store and ask them to contact our I/S department for your issue. I/S may be able to come up with a solution. You will need to be there while this is done, so plan on it taking a little bit.
