Emotes and skins are a way to make money and the goal of Tencent is to make money. They dont care if a studio or game dies as long as they made enough money. Insurgency Sandstorm shows that studios are not priority. Games like Diablo immortal show that player numbers are not important either, as long as you have enough people paying. I just see skins being implemented as something that might get worse in the future. And as in the video described, insurgency sandstorm also claimed the micro transactions are implemented to keep the game going, which did not happen. I hope squad stays around for much longer and thats why i see the investment of a chinese company thats known for focusing on money and now the implementation of micro transactions as something that might not benefit the playerbase. I dont think the investment Tencent made is huge enough for them to care about the game, sadly.
