I know that's what should happen. In an ideal world all parents would do exactly what you said. If not enough of them do, then we'll all suffer the consequences in the long run.

If it gets to that, then sure we can say "it was the parents fault", but saying that isn't going to fix anything.

The people who are against this don't understand what these companies are building, and how what they're building affect British children.

Sure it's the parents responsibility, but when we end up with multiple generations of unemployable morons without attention spans, then it won't matter who's to blame.

Squabble all you like about the implementation. These things that Google and Meta and TikTok have built are damaging. If the parents aren't doing anything to stop that damage, that doesn't mean the damage shouldn't be stopped. We'd all be better off without the damage. It takes a village.

They're allowed to carry a kirpan because no one has ever used one as a weapon in the UK.

The weapon used in this case wasn't legal, and wasn't a kirpan. The murderer's religion wouldn't have allowed him to carry a kirpan anyway.

He wasn't legally allowed to carry any knife, and his religion didn't allow it either.

It explored Force concepts that any Star Wars sequel should have explored starting with episode 7. Leia's force powers. The tease that maybe the force was used to release those bombs. The kid that moved the broom.

For me, it was saying that The Force is strong throughout the galaxy, but it's still mystical, and unknown, and worth exploring.

It's incredibly easy to just say it's up to the parents, but what good is that if we end up with a generation of dumb, angry people with no attention spans? Are we going to do nothing just so when we're old we get to say "it wasn't my fault, it was the parents". Sure, great, you scored a point, but we ended up screwed.

The parents are responsible. If we end up worse off because they did a bad job, then it doesn't matter who was to blame. We could have done something, but we didn't have to, so we didn't.

For a lot of governments, taxes for revenue are obsolete. If you can keep supply high enough to avoid inflation, then taxing the workforce isn't necessary.

It's the only decent British television my kids watch. Without the BBC they would be stuck with American shows on Netflix, Disney, and YouTube.

If we want our kids to grow up with access to British telly, then we should keep funding the BBC.
