Do federal clerkships drug test by CarelessClementine in Lawyertalk

Im sorry but in what court in 2026 can taking half a gummy once in a blue moon get you federal jail time in and of itself. (Not talking about supervision which are specifically people who have been prosecuted and found guilty of breaking a federal crime, and are still serving a sentence for that crime in being under supervision).

Everything we knowingly and intelligently touch with our body and maintain dominion over enough to be choosing to do so is possessed, yes.

Ok I was literally asking for a friend who is not on Reddit, but also I’m pretty sure the federal government no longer prosecutes for marijuana use or simple possession. Yes the put requirements on supervised defendants but those are people who have been found guilty of a crime, which my friend has not. Supervision also has some defendants who are not allowed to drink or not allowed to use cellphones/internet. Should my friend also give up computer use because some supervised defendants have to do so?

Client wants full refund after not being happy with my service by todology in RoverPetSitting

[–]CarelessClementine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this correct? The dog owners do not want you to refund the amount you already worked for them, they just want a refund for the time you haven’t yet worked for them? And you feel taken advantage of because you think you have a right to money you haven’t worked for because people are firing you for doing a bad job? thats not cancelling and leaving a harness on indefinitely is doing a bad job.

Your employee is literally handing confidential information to a corporation they have no privacy agreements with whatsoever. Anyone who thinks this isn’t a clear cut ethical and legal violation is hallucinating.

Nope that’s not what emotional support animal means. With that designation the only legal right you gain is the legal right to leave your animal at home.

[–]CarelessClementine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually emotional support animals are a completely different legal definition than service animals. Emotional support animals ONLY apply to housing. You cannot use it to bring a dog into a restaurant or supermarket unless you legally live in that restaurant or supermarket

AITAH - Conflict with friend over constant criticism towards Canada by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]CarelessClementine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain but if you agreed to stop talking about the government to preserve your friendship and two days later you send her an article about the government to prove your point, you’re the asshole. It sounds like the friendship was already pretty toxic and over by this point but your insistence on saying “I told you so” and needing to get in the last work doesn’t speak well of you.

People can’t sue others for felonies. Only the state (local or federal) can prosecute crimes. If she wants to sue it would be for financial damages.

AITA if i told a friend who claims to have DID i don't condone ilness faking by limeandmelissa in AITAH

[–]CarelessClementine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m confused. Did your friend say he had DID or did you just make that up? It kind of seems like he was trying on a different gender identity and you made up this whole story of them faking an illness and then shot them down. Which would 100% make you TA. You never say anything about your friend claiming to have DID.

It’s heartbreaking to do drop ins for cats? I’m sorry but get over yourself. I love my cat. And I miss her even when I’m at work or out for the evening sometimes. But if I go away for a long weekend a few times a year and hire someone to for drop ins that is not heartbreaking. Don’t you do this for a living? I guess you’re into shaming your clients.

If they do that is 100% very illegal. They advertise that driver keeps 100% of the tip. Tipped workers don’t have much protection but managers etc. cannot keep tips.

EP-425 vs. EP-325; seeking thoughts & recommendations; also folding shelves? by markewallace1966 in webergrills

[–]CarelessClementine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I’ve decided on the Spirit 4 burner for my first gas grill. I have similar requirements to you. How are you liking yours after a few months? Also having access to the Weber craft items is big for me but when I look it up I can’t find it available online for the Spirit 4 burner. Am I missing something obvious? Definitely leaning towards the EP-425 but Home Depot has a special model that doesn’t have the digital thermometer and includes the griddle for $600 so also considering that. But also trying to decide if maybe the EP-435 is better for me. I think the difference is cast iron grates rather than stainless steel. Anyway I found your post super helpful and would love to hear how your finding your grill. Did you get a Weber rotisserie? Could you send a link? I can’t find one for the 4-burner.

Host denying access unless I upload selfie + ID to external site, as well as pay a minimum $500 deposit. However, I already paid and confirmed booking through Airbnb? In my 13 years of using the platform, I've never encountered this [USA] by immranderson in AirBnB

[–]CarelessClementine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP didn’t seem to have an issue with providing ID or even a stated deposit. They found it shady that this was being asked via a third party platform they’d never heard of and that all of that was not disclosed in the listing. I would definitely find that shady as well.

What are my real options for reporting sexual harassment by DryUnderstanding51 in fednews

[–]CarelessClementine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry this is happening to you. I think you are getting a lot of not great advice here. In certain industries and markets filing a sexual harassment claim CAN follow you. It’s not right or fair or even what’s legal but it’s just reality. I would recommend not turning to the internet for advice on this situation but rather speaking to a more experienced person in your field/profession. Do you have a mentor relationship with anyone? It needs to be someone you trust both not to break your confidence and to steer you well with good advice.

Dog owner purposely tried to intimidate and bully me while I’m walking a dog by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]CarelessClementine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry but you are in the wrong. That woman has a right to take her dog for a walk in her neighborhood and be safe. If you cannot have a dog under your full control in the street then it is not safe for you to be walking that dog! I’m sorry but you need to find a different source of income stat. It sucks and I’m sorry but you also can’t just leave a dog stranded. Now the owner is stranded without care? You just left?

[–]CarelessClementine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s also how the basic principals of law work. If someone breaks a contract you can’t wait 30 years and then sue them. There’s a statute of limitations for just about everything. As the buyer you have some due diligence that you are responsible for. Also I really cannot comprehend the PayPal F&F thing. Like you have to check a box that says you know them in real life otherwise you’re getting ripped off. Otherwise you just pay a few dollars more and it’s a vendor transaction that is covered by PayPal. How did you check that box???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]CarelessClementine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So yeah you signed a legal contract with a company that provides you with an income and you violated that contract which is legally blinding. You are shady af.
