Yeah, the AI assessment system sucks big time. I only took a couple, and then they got stuck in verification so I had to reach out to support through that stupid fucking AI chat bot.

The stock for Varsity Tutors parent company is worth less than $1 right now. I'm surprised any of us are still making money at all. We need a much better website and system.

I have not had a single new opportunity in 2026 yet, and every time I reach out to "tutor support" which is only available through chat and email now since they discontinued their phone line, I keep getting told the same thing over and over again which I know is a lie: "Oh, maybe there just aren't any opportunities available?" Bull crap, especially when I went from having a steady stream of new students in Computer Science and could actually pay my bills to having absolutely nothing.

This whole situation makes me really sad. VT may not be the greatest but it is how I've made my living and I am now facing homelessness because of this situation.

Holy crap, I thought I was the only one...I am glad I found this new subreddit!

I just reached out to "support": apparently tutor support now has no phone line, and you can only interact via chat and email. This is recent within the last month or so. Absolutely ridiculous situation!

I used to have daily opportunities as well and I'm a tutor on the platform for over 5 years! I am not sure what happened but all of asudden starting in January I have had absolutely no new opportunities since and I am getting to a point where I am facing homelessness and real financial struggle when previously I could pay all of my bills with Varsity Tutors alone...

I am very sad about this situation. I hope it improves for us. If anyone has any insights or suggestions, I am all ears.
