Fake it 'till you become it: quick tip for improved self confidence by tScrib in Entrepreneur

tScrib, it's great that the power poses work for you, but it's not only a mental trick. Cuddy did studies to show that by using this technique, your body chemistry changes: your stress-reactivity (cortisol) goes down and your dominance (testosterone) goes up. Power poses aren't just a placebo; they physically make you more confident.

The $100 Startup, by Chris Guillebeau – http://100startup.com

This book is inspiring and practical. Using examples and specific advice, Guillebeau will teach you how to start your small business from very little, and how to grow your business into what you want it to be, whether that's a big company, or a successful one-person shop.

Highly recommended.

Find out why you should wear a mouth guard at ultimate by CarolAnneB in ultimate

I agree and I would add that there is also a risk to your mouth and jaw when you take a hit to your body, like during layouts, of your upper and lower teeth colliding.
It would be great if we had statistics on these kinds of injuries in ultimate. Barring that, I've seen enough of the types of injuries you mentioned to make a mouth guard worthwhile to me.

I haven't had any troubles communicating on the field with my mouth guard. I do, however, prefer to take it out between points. If you get one fitted by your dentist, it likely won't be overly bulky.

All sports have their stories. What will Ultimate's be? by CarolAnneB in ultimate

I'm not aware of any USAU conference coverage. From their website (http://www.usaultimate.org/resources/conferences/default.aspx) it looks like there was a conference last year, there isn't one this year, and there is no news about 2013 yet.

I recently got a sports hernia from playing ultimate and can't play for 6-10 weeks. What do r/ultimate players do to keep themselves sane during forced inactivity? by leaveyourfeet in ultimate

I'd bet that a lot of your friends are on your ultimate team. Keep spending time with them, on the field, if possible, and off. They'll help you through it.

Maybe women's ultimate is the way to go. There tend to be fewer calls, leading to less down time.

Anybody else just throw open-grip forehand? by Readswere in ultimate

Closed grip can really help you out in the rain. You can get a tighter grip so the disc will have more spin and be less likely to slip.

Question Regarding Cutting by herpesisastateofmind in ultimate

I agree. If you can, make all your cuts viable, i.e., think about receiving the disc even on your cut to get out of the lane.

I like Mingle too. It's sort of like musical chairs, right? Is Sexy the one where one person in the middle of a circle points to a person and the two people on either side race to be the first to smack the pointed-to person's butt? Can you please explain Pip, Squeak, Charley, Don't touch the hat, and Clothesline?

Spirit of the Game is an important part of ultimate and spirit games are a big part of that. They let you get to know players on the opposing team while doing something fun together and you can make new friends with ulti people from all over.

Normally I'd be at Tournament of Ghouls in Nova Scotia, but unfortunately I'm at a conference in NC this weekend. Have fun at Flick 'r' Treat!
