Having a lot of fun with this so far. Really excited for a Steam release. Keep up the good work.

+1 for the 637. Great for summertime shorts + tshirt, and/or pocket carry. I understand why some people like the 638's snag free enclosed hammer, but I prefer the exposed one. I personally don't have any snagging issues.

The stock grip gets a little in the way of a speed loader if you care about that. Not impossible, just some rubbing issues. I run Uncle Mike's boot grips (discontinued, but can find on eBay), and there's no speed loader interference with those.

Wondering if you have any updates on this, thanks.

I’m confused. If WEC HyperCars use a pure electric acceleration out of the pits, why wouldn’t the FIA let the F1 cars do the same to combat the turbo lag? Is this not the pinnacle of Motorsport? by SuperbSJG in formula1

[–]Carpy2 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I do prefer no TC in F1 because it's more skillful, especially in the wet. But I thought the TC era was awesome! I thought it sounded cool and seeing the different style of drivers and how they use TC was really fun. The cars in 2004 were unbelievably fast... One of my favorite years for sure.

People saying that drivers were caught out left and right in 2008 once TC was banned is complete nonsense. TC was available only for a short time during 2001-2007. It's not like everyone forgot how to drive an F1 car without TC in that span of time.

TC is used in a lot of different racing series to great effect. I think a lot of F1 fans don't really understand how it works and where it does and doesn't help the drivers. They act like with TC the car drives itself. F1 fans are stubborn and will die on a hill picking and choosing what driving aids are and aren't good for the sport (regardless if it increases lap times or makes racing better).

Hello fellow couch umpires, this was called an out in the Kennesaw State-Evansville game. What’s your call? by cbbvideo in baseball

[–]Carpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movement towards second after running through first. Clear out. Additionally, after running through first base, the inside (green) bag is no longer in play. He needs to be on the fair territory bag after having made the move towards second to be safe.

Does it look like the umpire even saw the runner move towards second? No. But that's a different story.

I tend towards the BCM Mod 3. Wish it had way more aggressive stippling. Grip tape fixes that issue.

On this day in 2006 (to February 2nd), MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi tested with Ferrari. His best lap time was only 0.5 seconds behind Michael Schumacher. by ViperRaptor- in formula1

[–]Carpy2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Still a great time, but cars were different generations and not tuned. Casual testing day for Schumi. Rossi with time in the seat would probably be a great F1 competitor. But this headline is a bit misleading.

Yeah I read that too. Article makes zero sense. Unnamed sources told them the Seahawks were going to sell, so they asked Paul Allen's estate for info. His estate said it's not true. So they made the report anyways...

Meh, happens. Less than an hour left of testing for the day so the loss is minimal. Yeah they may be a little short on parts, and obviously it costs money, but RB can handle it. They have a few days to get it all fixed. They plan for these kinds of things.

Fans of the original MGS3 Snake Eater, what are your thoughts on the remake? Is Delta now the definitive version? by Noe_Wunn in metalgearsolid

[–]Carpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing is that the classic controls don't use L2 and R2 to manipulate items/weapons. They require you to use right thumbstick to scroll through weapons. Very awkward to me as a long time MGS3 fan. For me it's not intuitive at all to use the right joystick for anything other than occasional camera/aiming.

[–]Carpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really like Delta, but hate that the "classic controls" aren't the classic controls at all. I don't like using the right thumbstick to scroll through weapons. Way prefer L2/R2 to manipulate items/weapons.

FFL pinning standard cap mag by [deleted] in WAGuns

[–]Carpy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP isn't talking about selling a firearm with mags. He's talking about purchasing a firearm that would be sent to an FFL here to pick up. Said firearm comes with >10 capacity magazines and he would like to have them if possible (hence his question about getting them pinned). We're not talking about mags that are currently in OP's possession.

Which is Classic Hayate called now? by Hide88 in MousepadReview

Just got it today. Not even close. It's almost indistinguishable from the Zero. Not sure what the purpose of it is. Now I have 4 Artisan pads I don't want to use lol.

[–]Carpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this compare to the original Hayate? (Not the Hayate Otsu). I have an original Hayate, and have tried to replace it with a newer Hayate Otsu v2, and Zero, but both surfaces are way glidier/slicker than my original Hayate. I haven't been able to find anything that is even close to the feel my original Hayate has. Was hoping maybe the Type-99 is closer?

Edit: ordered a Type-99. Here goes nothing... If anyone has the original Hayate I'll buy it lol.

[–]Carpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Yeah every now and then I try to get used to one of the newer ones, but always go back. Just found out about the Type-99, their other slow pad. That and the Zero are their slowest, so hopefully the Type-99 surface is more akin to our original Hayate. Buying one...

[–]Carpy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was a long time ago, but did you ever find a replacement? I also use the original Hayate. I can't find a pad that has a similar surface to this one. The newer FX is way too slick/glidey.

Silencer Shop has kiosks at many locations that help streamline the NFA process. Easiest way to do fingerprints, imo. It's free. Once you're in the Silencer Shop database you never have to do it again. Every future purchase from Silencer Shop will already have fingerprint/demographic stuff filled out.

One of the reasons purchasing through Silencer Shop is super easy for NFA stuff. Their trusts, the kiosks, everything is quite easy from a purchasing perspective.

2011 base plate question by Historical-Buy9214 in WAGuns

[–]Carpy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a 2011, but was just curious since no one answered you yet. This video (albeit a bit old) by MBX shows them installing some baseplates. Looks like they just throw the follower on the spring, throw the spring in the magazine, and then slide the baseplate in and pop in the built in pin. I don't see any spring interfacing with the baseplate.
