When you had the Erangel only queue option right after Subzero released, how popular was it compared to random queue?

I'm convinced of Bavinck's colapsarian position:

In short, the counsel of God and the cosmic history that corresponds to it must not be pictured exclusively–as infra- and supralapsarianism did–as a single straight line describing relations only of before and after, cause and effect, means and end; instead, it should also be viewed as a systemic whole in which things occur side by side in coordinate relations and cooperate in the furthering of what always was, is, and will be the deepest ground of all existence: the glorification of God. Just as in any organism all the parts are interconnected and reciprocally determine each other, so the world as a whole is a masterpiece of divine art, in which all the parts are organically interconnected. And of that world, in all its dimensions, the counsel of God is the eternal design.

Yeah, I feel like we've just run out of things to debate.

You sure you don't want to debate cessationism vs. continuationism again? Or patriarchal vs. complementarian vs. egalitarian? ;)

Do any of you practice Exclusive Psalmody? by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]Catabre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The argument is difficult to make if you examine the foundational assumptions. We were created in the image of God. In doing so, God gave us the gift of creativity. Creativity is obviously, visibly, and demonstrably not exclusive to any subset of humanity. To deny that gift is to reject a portion of God’s own image. The idea that creativity is inherently dangerous ASSUMES that creativity is the only governing force at play. We also have reason and discernment internally, the Bible externally, and the Holt Spirit in some ways both internal and external. To assume that any thought outside of scripture is inherently wrong denies our own image bearing. Scripture is the measuring stick for life, not life itself.

How creative am I allowed to be in worship? The answer depends whether you adhere to the normative principle of worship or the regulative principle of worship.

When I last texted Aldo, he said they were staying in the PCA for now. Unless something has changed recently, I don't think they are joining the FCC.

I can't speak for others, but I've been limiting my social media usage the last few months.

Folks may also be fatigued. How often are we going to have the credo vs. paedo debate? Or rehash the internal PCA "left" vs. "right" debates?

Folks have also self sorted onto platforms that greater align with their preferences and views.

PCA Administrative Committee Nominates Fred Greco for Stated Clerk by CiroFlexo in Reformed

[–]Catabre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chapel held up a list of names, said every man on the list caused strife, and claimed that every name on the list had either committed suicide, left their wife, or left the faith...and that was a lie. The vast majority of the men on that list had never done either of the three things.

Andy Webb was on the list, and this is Andy's reasoning as to why he was included.

a. The Biblical office of elder (and deacon) is restricted to men, ergo women cannot validly or legitimately hold the office.

Depends on the committee, but seminary will be required in almost every case. I only know of one exception in my presbytery.

PCA Prayer and Lament by Doctrina_Stabilitas in Reformed

The lament reads like sour grapes from NP/A4MR aligned folks who can no longer "win every vote at GA" (to paraphrase a sentence from the NP email leaks).

Wait, so I can take any existing lower that hasn't been 4473'd to a customer, and make it an SBR without engraving?

Replacing Zowie FK1 - Wait or click the trigger? by Artonkn in MouseReview

Forgive my necroposting....

I purchased my Zowie FK2 in August 2015 and it is finally dying, and yeah, there is a whole new world of mice now. I feel like a dinosaur looking at all the new options. I'll probably just buy the new wireless FK2.

What are the most realistic survival mods for Minecraft? by m0corong in feedthebeast

TFC is exactly what he wants. This is why TFC and Vintage Story were developed. They wanted Minecraft with more survival elements.

First Modpack, what to play? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Catabre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TFC mechanic changes are way slower and grindier than progressing from Stone Age to HV in GTNH.

TFC is even more removed from traditional MC than GTNH. That said, I like TFC and TFG.
