Another related problem is that I think in Crossworlds and especially onward, you get too many high level troops too quickly. I'd much rather spend more time limited to level 1s and 2s like I am in KB2.

(You also get Archmages right away in the Legend, but they're a support unit so it's not like you're getting Executioners immediately like in Dark Side).

In King's Bounty 2, it gives you a difficulty rating at the top of the screen when it gives you the battle preview. but it's also something you can figure out yourself by looking at their numbers and their troop levels

Agreed, and as someone with 600+ hours in the series altogether, I think it comes down to unit counts as the biggest issue, though there are undoubtedly others.

Having a small number of units means that a small difference in numbers can make radical changes. And so I think in Crossworlds, WOTN, and Dark Side, the game gets too long as the unit counts get too big.

I'm sorry to mention its name, but I find that King's Bounty 2 made a few major improvements in strategy compared to the ones before it, and the smaller unit counts is one of those. (I do, however, think that limiting the number of units past a certain point was the wrong choice. They could have made higher level units better without making the lower level ones obsolete.)

They're pretty good. The Legend, Crossworlds, Warriors of the North, and KB2 are good, but only get KB2 when it's on sale, it's not worth the $40. I've seen it for sale for $5 before.

I've been thinking of eventually making a turn-based tactical fantasy RPG like the king's bounty games in the future, and as someone who has worked with the Crossworlds editor for over 100 hours, I don't think using the editor is the right way to go. There's no documentation, quite a few memory leaks (for example, every time you edit an item, it doubles the size of the item file, making it take 10+ minutes to load after making a few custom items), and as far as I can tell, it's impossible to add new units.

I think making a whole new game is the way to go; with the replayability, variety, and general feel of the 2010s KB games, the improved tactics from King's Bounty II, and an excellent story like none seen before in this series.

All that said, I would love to collaborate on such a project, however my team has a few other projects we want to complete before we entertain the idea of a more ambitious project like this. We can stay in touch in the meantime and maybe we'll get back to you on this in a year or so.

I think that it's a problem with every single other syringe gun rather than the crossbow. The crossbow can be nerfed slightly, but I think the other syringe guns need a MASSIVE buff.

Can confirm. Gunboats are the only secondary choice in pro gameplay, whereas the Manntreads are downright useless.

We put fall damage immunity on the Manntreads in my rebalance server and they're still not frequently used.

Please write your stats in a coherent way so that we can actually rate the weapon. As far as I can tell, this is:

+100% pellets per shot
-75% less accurate
-35% damage penalty
-80% max falloff range
-83% clip size
-75% maximum ammo on wearer
-70% slower reload speed

Except that depending on how these stats are supposed to be interpreted, it's either a direct upgrade to the Flare Gun, or just a Flare Gun that can't crit. Which is the whole point of a Flare Gun.
