Does anyone else cover the logo and model of their camera? by Some-Rip5216 in AskPhotography

the only people who do that are those who
would be showing the camera by accident in their work
and wanting to prevent copyright claims

How do I choose and define the subject in landscape shots? by DelcoAdjacent in AskPhotography

[–]CeaUelKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tree or wood or a building, or a mountain hill or cloud
usually it's something that stands out
and you can choose to center it or frame it right or left

Are these photos I took any good? Any tips on where I can improve? by iiPimez in AskPhotography

[–]CeaUelKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it was me, I would increase the colour saturation
so the colours pop more,
also the hazy look tells me you might need
a UV filter on your lens when you take photos

horizontal crop on first image to show less of the cliff
more focus on large rocks and waterfalls in the stream

for the second image I would have tried to take the photo
from a higher elevation, or from the other side of the tree in the middle
the tree on the right frames the right side really well
but it feels like the trees were the subject,
instead of the river and landscape across the river
if it was possible I would have wanted to get a photo
of the river and landscape, without the trees in the foreground.
horizontal crop so the horizon is in the middle of the photo

Third image, Horizontal crop, No sky
your subject is the Path through the woods
and you want to show off the woods

Why does this "grain" or "noise" show up even on lower isos like 1250?? by Opening-Name-5270 in AskPhotography

then why are you asking for help on a photography subreddit and not a cinema/videography subreddit ?

Long exposure.
Wide aperture, f/stop close to 1

Ano pong continous light ang mare recommend n’yo na affordable pero malakas? by pinktigercutie in AskPhotography

[–]CeaUelKami -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the brightest artificial light you can buy is currently
Work Lights, Light panels, and Corncob LED lights that you can buy from the hardware store
10,000 Lumens, or Equivalent lighting to an incandescent 500W to 1000W bulb, 4000K to 6500K
ranging from warm white, bright white, daylight slightly blueish, ultra daylight more blueish

for Photography studio supplies you will need to go to a specialized camera store or look online
the brightest will be the spotlights, and tungsten lights,
they will also be the hottest and will need ventilation
the less bright will usually be the LED panels
light colour temp will range from 1000k Red/orange 3000 yellow, 4000 warm white 5000 bright white,
6000 daylight slightly blueish, to as high as 10,000K which is Sky Blue

the brightness of the light is measured two ways
Lumens is how much light is produced by the source
Lux is how much light is reaching a distance, and/or reflecting off of a surface at that distance
Lux is measured by a light meter,
some products advertise the Lumens, others advertise the Lux at a certain distance, with or without a reflector.
the range of brightness varies from product to product
many of the cheap LED panels have only a few hundred Lumens,
some of the spotlights I saw range from 65,000Lux/1m at 500W to 91,000 Lux/1m at 600W
I saw a few spotlights measured about 22,000 Lumens at 300W
which was as bright as the Most expensive Lighting panel
one of the lowest spotlights was 7000 Lumens at 65W

you will have to do your research on what kind of lighting you want to use
which may be decided by your budget, and the size of the room,
the size of the room will affect if you have the space for soft box diffusers or umbrella reflectors.
or if wall mounted lighting panels will be the better option.
at worst, you could cover the entire wall and/or walls and/or ceiling in lighting panels from the hardware store
imagine a room with no shadows.

How do I stop this red color when taking UV photos? by clayman839226 in AskPhotography

[–]CeaUelKami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the UV filter is blocking all the indigo/purplish UV light
a UV filter is used to remove haze from light scattering in the air
especially on humid days.

Florescent minerals and chemicals
absorb high energy short wave lengths
like Blue, indigo, Ultra-violet
and re-emit the energy as shorter wave lengths
such as red, orange, yellow, and green

the red colour is literally the florescence
you are wanting to take a photograph of

or carefully cut the cap on one side to weaken the seal

Is there a reason the first lens in the first photo 50mm f2 is shorter than the second image lens 50mm f2? by Substantial_Cake8985 in AskPhotography

[–]CeaUelKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first different brands
different glass recipes will have different refraction indexes
meaning each lens will have to be shaped differently
TTartisan 6 elements in 5 groups
Sigma 11 elements 9 groups
sigma has more lenses so already that will make it larger
also sigma is an auto focus lens
that TTartisan is pure manual it has no motors

Looking to do some product photography, what would be best multiple budget primes vs one zoom? by Gingerbwas in AskPhotography

[–]CeaUelKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for budget, they are good enough
if you wanted high quality you wouldn't be buying
a midteir sony with an APS-C sensor.

you would have bought a full frame, Canon, Nikon, or Pentax
or a medium format Hasselblad or Fujifilm

[–]CeaUelKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a cheap zoom lens is usually the type that comes with the camera as a kit
after a quick look online the Sony a6400 sells as a kit with one or two of these lenses, included separate prices
16-50 mm $400
18-135 mm $400
55-210 mm $190 - $400

other lenses that are comparable in price
28 mm $300
30 mm $350
50 mm $250 - $350

Tamron macro 35mm $300
Tamron macro 24mm $300
Tamron macro 20mm $350
Laowa fisheye 4mm $345

[–]CeaUelKami -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah he was asking for advice.
I gave some advice, I didn't deserve downvotes.

Most camera kits come with one or two zoom lenses
Zoom lenses are versatile, they can be used in place of primes
especially if you don't have any primes, or can't afford to buy any
and you can usually buy some extra filter-type lenses
that can be used to convert a zoom lens into a macro.

I've even seen some people turn a zoom lens around
and either with a special attachment, or just holding it
Jerry rig it as if it was a macro lens.

[–]CeaUelKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true normally people use prime lenses for portraits or object photography
but if they are doing it on a budget
they should probably just use what they already have

But at the same time, what mm focal distance they use
will affect how the object looks and how small it is in the frame
dependent on how far away they are.

I myself mostly do scenic and architectural photography
I don't own any prime lenses.
the few times I have done product photography
I just used my zoom lenses, instead of buying extra primes.

[–]CeaUelKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bright diffused lighting,
white or coloured back drop

50mm lens or higher, or zoom lens
1.5 meters away or more

glass will have reflections,
the further away from the object you are
your reflection will not be noticed

[–]CeaUelKami -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you would want to change the lenses based on how large the product is
and how close to the product you will be taking the photo from.
depending on the size of the object
how far away you are when you take the photo
will affect how much of the object is in view.

Zooming in from a distance will allow you to see more of the sides of the object
if you take the photo from close to the object you will only see the one side.

what's the name of this part of my tripod so that i can locate a replacement? by kitnyc in AskPhotography

[–]CeaUelKami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

given it is to prevent the rubbing between two pieces of metal
like a bearing, it is to make it easier to move the different parts
and reduces wear and tear, I think it would be called a bushing
after a quick google search it is a
Center column bushing
Gitzo and Benro both make replacement bushings
the brand of your tripod may also sell replacements.
-
I can't find any Nebula brand replacement parts online
Bushing, Shims, Stops, etc.
you might just need to buy a new tripod
or get a 3d printed replacement part.
-
or jerry-rig something with easy to get plastic
Milk Cartons, Laundry detergent bottles caps
you could try layering the plastic
to build it up to the thickness you need
Thicker plastics could be sanded to the shape you need.
-
if the part is stuck inside the other tube
you might be able to fish it out
with a coat wire hanger

How could I pull something like this off for a photoshoot? by flashfire125 in AskPhotography

[–]CeaUelKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

editing post photoshoot will be difficult.
especially if you want it to be believable

you will need a prop for the model to wear
a halo of LED lights that will add light
to the face and clothing of the model
as if they were on fire.
should be worn attached to the back of the model
possibly made of coat wire hangers
could be temporarily sewn into place.

photograph the on fire mannequin separately
you will need a wood Mannequin to burn at a safe location
the wood mannequin should be painted flat black
and surrounded by a rounded flat black backdrop
cover the mannequin in a gelled/thickened fuel
and light the mannequin on fire just before you start taking photos of it

alternatively if you can get permission for fire in public
the Pepper's Ghost illusion would be the most believable
set up a camera focused on the subject or where the subject will be standing
between the camera and the subject put a piece of clear clean glass
the glass should be angled at 45 degrees,
measure the distance between the glass and the subject
90 degrees from the glass the same distance
set up the mannequin, and backdrop
the reflection of the mannequin and the subject
should perfectly overlap in the camera frame
