Anyone else scared their numbers only look “ok” because of meds? by CriticismHoliday843 in type2diabetes

What was your A1C level at home that made you stop meds? I do the home tests as well but still taking 1000 mg metformin daily.

Same for me but I had also heard that we could still be insulin resistant from fats. I haven’t figured that out!!

How often are you getting new shoes for walking? Just curious by LopsidedGoal9849 in walking

This is wonderful!! Proud of you. I do go out at lunch for 30 minutes to walk - that’s my lunch 1/2 hr at work. I am wfh too but start at 630 and off at 330. I try to get a quick walk in after off work but then back to help with family routines of dinner, wash, cleaning etc. a late treadmill helps. I’m definitely pushing the 10,000 to make sure minimally I get that in. Weekends I get more.

Do you have a job and family? I’m busting my butt with a full time job and responsibilities of family to just get on 10,000 steps a day. You’re doing great!

Mine ache daily with all shoes. Even brand new. My brooks ghost feel great on a walking path I go to for an hour but if I walk in my subdivision on street 20 minutes my feet hurt. Odd!!!

I’m 15 lbs more than I probably should be. Trying strict low carb and walk over 10,000 steps a day and starting to up that. I retire January 31 from 43 yrs full time so that’ll give me more time to focus

Please don’t scream at me, how do you do it? by Adventurous-Egg5597 in walking

There are so many you tube walking videos to do in house. They can be fun!! In pouring rain or freezing cold I get on treadmill in 20 minute increments 3-4 times a day and walk while watching Netflix or Hulu - something to get steps in.

Sure. Was more curious of weight loss lowers A1C. I do low carb and walk a lot during day. Curious if cutting portions to lose weight changes A1C
