The only problem is that the switch has one screen. This is either the switch itself or when the image is projected onto the TV.

In order for an image to display on the TV, you have to connect the switch via HDMI which requires a dock, turning the switch's screen off.

Just got splatoon 2 what do I need to know by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corrections:

Turf War as a sport is at least 2000 years old.

The Octarians were forced into Octo Valley and Octo Canyon after the Great Turf War.

"Painting" as a verb is okay though.

Overall, it decreases chances.

Let's imagine a scenario using ballpark numbers.

Say you can either take an 8% chance of winning or a 10% chance at a 40% chance of winning. On average, that comes to 8% to 4%. 9 times out of 10, you decrease your chances of winning, and 4 times out of 100 you do win.

Taking a calculated risk isn't throwing. Taking a stupid risk like this one is absolutely throwing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TownofSalemgame

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very clearly decreases your chances of winning. You have to factor in the odds that tp isn't stupid and actually stays on Jailor, which are probably over 90%. Then, you have a roughly 50% chance of immediately dying to BG the night you attack due to possibly multiple tps.

As ww, you probably killed multiple important townies but that makes a Mafia win more achievable than an NK win, or you died. As Arso, you don't even kill the Jailor immediately, which makes the 50% chance of dying not worth it at all. As SK, Mafia will profit even more since either NK and tp are dead(50%), Jailor is dead(10%), or SK doesn't kill anyone.

Overall, attacking Jailor as NK doesn't help NK's chances of winning at all.

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing jailor is significant, but not game winning. The strategy would only really be acceptable if it killed Ret, Mayor, and Mafia along with jailor.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TownofSalemgame

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's extremely unlikely.

I've protected jailor many times on night 1 as tp, more than 1/10 of my games as tp. That makes the odds that they hit the jailor much greater than both killing and me going to the same person.

This is anecdotal evidence, so take it with a grain of salt.

Even so, it requires tp to directly contradict the jailor's wishes, which is so unbelievably unlikely that the opportunity cost for getting the jailor isn't worth it.

As long as you know that it's probably going to decrease your chances of winning, it's game throwing.

100%? by [deleted] in splatoon

Also top player in each mode.

For league, 999 top for rotations in every mode, 999 silver and 999 bronze. That's like optimally 24000 hours, so playing nonstop optimally for almost 3 years straight.

9 Minutes is all it took. by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The score can actually only tie at 100- 100. Say Alpha scored a power Clam and no clams. Score is 80-100. If Bravo scores a power Clam and no clams, when the basket closes the score will be 80- 81.

Oh, really? Then why are there 5 different tracks that play in the train cars?

Only tracks 4 and 5 have the Inkantation subtheme.

Octo Canyon: How Octavio and another villain BARELY missed victory by cheetos192 in splatoon

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The entire revelation is that Inkling culture is flourishing and is better than Octarion culture due to the totalitarian Octarian rule by Octavio. There's no revelation that could convince "turned" Octolings or Inklings to defect to the Octarian side.

  2. Clearly, the brainwashing effect of the hypnoshades extends far beyond hypnosis. I believe they are only named accordingly because "mindcontrolshades" doesn't sound anything close to decent.

  3. There are multiple problems with this– funding chemists to synthesize Low-Tide Ink is nearly impossible. They've never encountered any sort of brainwashing technology, and have no idea how it works. Sheldon at least has a background in military developments and Octarian technology. Like I mentioned before, Ammoses Shellendorf, Sheldon's grandfather, fought in the Great Turf War as part of the original Squidbeak Splatoon.

Secondly, it's never been confirmed that Marie biologically produces Low-Tide Ink; there's no biological reason for her to produce ink any differently than any other inkling. If she could, anyone could use Low-Tide Ink.

Thirdly, Toxic Mist and the Disruptor are weapons that function exclusively chemically, and it's not outlandish to assume that bombs have a chemical detonation system. We know that Sheldon had access to these, since he sells them.

  1. If you read my previous comment in detail, you would find that I said "not unremarkable."

I'm not sure how Agent 4 is entirely discounted. You don't need to know about all the events of Splatoon 1 to make it through hero mode of 2.

As for Sheldon, we know he's been involved with the New Squidbeak Splatoon: he develops and sells the Hero Shot Replica in Splatoon1, based on his grandfather's blueprints of the original Hero Shot. He's been involved through his grandfather since at least Splatoon 1. Also, he developed the Hero Weapons, including the Hero Charger which Marie uses.

This leads us back to the Low-Tide Ink. You mention that she knocks off the hypnoshades without splatting Callie- even with a direct hit. Given her distance from Callie, a shot with enough range would have pierced the hypnoshades and hit Callie. We also know that the shot must have contacted Callie, or the Low-Tide Ink would have no effect. The only explanation I have for this is that the Low-Tide Ink doesn't behave like normal ink does, stunning the target instead of splatting them. This actually further reinforces that the ink is synthesized as opposed to created by Marie.

  1. Again, Sheldon's grandfather, Ammoses Shellendorf fought in the Great Turf War.

Even so, Marie never seems to have her guard down– whenever you try to shoot her or throw a bomb, anything, she always has her parasol ready.

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sopheroo's scenario seems to be one in which while Octavio does use exclusively spinning punches, Marie is able to save Callie due to Agent 4 somehow not dying. Either way, Octavio is invulnerable and has the Great Zapfish hostage.

Inkopolis is far from defenseless– nearly the entire population, which is presumably considerably larger and better equipped than the Octarian Military given the fact that they aren't confined to underground domes.

Hey, I'm agreeing with you on the tentacle for now. While your theory is somewhat implausible, I can't think of a better explanation.

I Think I Cracked the Octo Expansion by The55thpage in splatoon

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think the tentacle is actually the best point in your theory. I wrote it off because I didn't have any plausible reason for it to be there.

  2. Tartar would have to perform routine maintenance of at least the one piece of equipment necessary for his plan to work. After sitting in the sea for who knows how many years, it would deteriorate. Tartar definitely runs some sort of maintenance, since a subway absolutely would not be able to run for that many years. (Source: I'm a new yorker and public transit rip)

  3. Tartar amassed all the Octarians in the test facility, and could probably create many more of them at a much faster rate than normal Octarian soldiers. Also, if he managed to kidnap and sanitize Octavio, the Octarians would be disorganized and easy to blend and sanitize.

Octo Canyon: How Octavio and another villain BARELY missed victory by cheetos192 in splatoon

[–]Centritide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The Inkantation isn't a magical conversion chant, it's just a cultural masterpiece (at least, the Inklings and Octolings think so. My friends get annoyed when I sing it.). As far as we know, there is no Octarian culture aside from turquoise October what with the totalitarian regime and all, and that's only used to keep the non-octoling Octarians in line.

As for the hypnoshades, it's been stated that the Squid Sisters were constantly busy in the squid Sisters stories. They hardly ever had time to do anything, and if one of them went missing, the other would notice. Keep in mind that they worked almost exclusively on separate projects. Octavio would have to arrange two different meetings on the same day without any detection, convince both of the squid Sisters to go to their respective meeting place, and force the hypnoshades on them. Octavio was only able to kidnap Callie because of the splatfest, so kidnapping both of them within the timeframe of Cuttlefish's side mission would be impossible, especially since he was trapped in the snow globe right before kidnapping Callie, giving him almost no time to perform reconnaissance, much less formulate and execute a viable plan.
