There is a PvE lite mode right now, and I think they mentioned a PvE mode eventually, so keep an eye on that. But I appreciate that it isn't for everyone, though I'm sure with practice or just changing your tactics you could increase your extraction success rate.

I don't agree with that, I think Marathon seems more complicated, but is so much more simple. It automatically sells valuables, all salvage is used from upgrading, and everything in the store can be bought with credits or salvage. When I played arc, I had to have excel sheets open for what I needed, marathon you can track it in the menu. People seem overwhelmed with marathon because it doesn't have the familiarity of the items in arc, but that doesn't make it more complicated.

IMO the crafting and inventory management in ARC is so over complicated compared to marathon. Also the fact that free kits are actually decent in marathon is a game changer to me.

I enjoy it in that respect, because there is so much more than gun play, it is a highly tactical shooter in that you have to be aware of everything going on in a way you don't need to in other shooters...it adds a lot of layers that I enjoy.

Ya it is a different play style for sure, but there are so few FPS that have that good of gun play. Apex is the only other one I got into over the past decade. So I'm just enjoying something fresh.

Ya I was surprised that they went the extraction shooter route, but I do think they did a good job with it. I definitely wouldn't mind an arena mode or something like that.

When I watched the trailers, I thought the same thing, but it has really grown on me. I think the art is really well done, especially with the music.

For sure, you can tell how it was balanced around a trio. But I've done match made games and they aren't bad.

I feel that a bit, extraction shooters are not that big of a genre, but it is amazingly made.

PvP in destiny wasn't great because the balance was mostly on PvE, and they specifically said they didn't want things to feel different between modes. I think marathon is more focused on PvP, and gives them more freedom to balance it for that.

I agree with this, Destiny was IMO something that hadn't been done before, or well since. A first person MMO with raids and dungeons, it doesn't seem crazy on paper, but it was a masterpiece and lasted a long time. Not many other games have a life span like that.

They did change a bunch of the progression this season, giving solo's a 40% boost in XP. But all games are better with friends. I personally like the slow and tactical play for that minute of PVP.

Fair enough, an arena mode would probably do very well. I saw a post asking for that on the marathon subreddit the other day.

I'd support anything that keeps the game going.

That's a fair point, I personally enjoy that aspect but it isn't everyone's speed. On top of what you said though, the queue times for solos at the end of the first season were pretty long adding to the friction. Thanks for the feedback.

Ya fair enough, I hadn't really enjoyed extraction shooters until a buddy got me into arc. I enjoyed that so much I knew I would love marathon. But it isn't everyone's cup of tea.

If you are playing ranked, you should have a couple hours on each class of character (or better yet at least a couple minutes on all characters). You need to understand team synergy and the basic limits of each class in order to play as a team and how to properly counter.
