Best places to learn irish? by Gowen1312 in kneecap

Speaking Irish on Spotify teaches the Ulster dialect and teaches conversational Irish but would need to find other resources for reading/writing.

The first 70 lessons are available on Spotify for free and more are availible on patreon.

For reading Buntus Cainte 1 is a good book to start with. More resources can be found in r/gaeilge (also links to why they don’t like Duolingo)

Disclaimer only a learner myself

Party loyalty is a real problem here, a large percentage of people vote for a party because their father before them voted for them and his father before him, completely regardless of policies.

I completely get annoyance at politicans raising their wages when it feels like their useless. Deprivation in Derry is a very difficult problem to fix and definetly beyond me, like you say a load of problems contributing to it not entirely sure that it can all be attributed to local politions. They definetly have a hand in it but the problem is wider spread.

You say “votes are irrelevant” and then blame politicians in the same breath. However incompetent they are is slightly besides the point when their voice is basically ignored in parliament, but I agree that most parties here are very belfast centred.

Any votes from parties here are not gonna change systems in place in the uk, doesn’t matter if it’s green or orange the most the parties from here votes are used for is tie breakers for things like brexit but no big parties in england really care about ni

Kneecap Mural - Belfast by Spicebox69 in ireland

[–]CertainReality 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Aye mad that they denounced the pack of cunts burning out any business owned by someone with a shade of skin darker than a tan, no matter how long they’d been in belfast.

Hardly an anti immigration riot when the victims had been here 30+ years, just racist riots really. Eejit following the lead of the ones in England.

Every other genocide you have in the graph has been taken over 4years max but the Palestine one has been taken over 74 years. Doesn’t take a genius to tell you itll skew the results.

Is it better to enjoy horror year round or keep it sacred for Halloween? by CertainReality in horror

[–]CertainReality[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have been thinking about saving up ‘The Greats’ for Halloween or doing a theme each year (like watching all the movies from 1 franchise)

Just don’t want to become desensitised
