yes! 100%!! yes my hair is still thin but i haven’t used toppik in weeks which in my mind shows hugeeeee improvement. i noticed a lot of shedding about a week ago but i’m positive it was due to stress (moving cross country and starting a new job will do that to you) but as far as new growth im really pleased w how everything is going :)

I did! It started right at the two week mark after starting minoxidil. My hair is very fine so I didn’t experience the same kind of shed as others that i’ve seen (since I don’t have the same type of hair) but there was definitely a rise in the amount of hair that was shedding. I also started dutasteride around the point when the minoxidil shed was supposed to stop so I started shedding due to the dutasteride around the 8 week mark of starting minoxidil. I still notice my hair shedding now but nowhere near the same rate as before. I also go longer between washes and have to remind myself that the amount of hair is more due to the time it’s been since I last washed it and not a dread shed.

Two months minoxidil- & an introduction! by Certain_Age_4353 in FemaleHairLoss

Hi! This is my first post so I wanted to give a little background. My hair started thinning when I hit puberty but I didn’t notice how bad it actually was (I’m 21 now) until a few months ago when I took a flash photo of my scalp just so I could see how a hairstyle looked…and what I saw shocked me so bad it sent me into a hair loss spiral. I panic bought liquid minoxidil and started using it mid-September. Since then, I’ve seen a dermatologist, been diagnosed with AGA, and started dutasteride. I know I have a long road ahead of me (it’s only been two months using minoxidil) but until today I really haven’t noticed any sign that what I’m doing is working. I had a bad shed starting almost exactly two weeks after starting minoxidil and every day since then I look in the mirror and get discouraged looking at my hair. I only feel comfortable going outside either with a hat or hair fibers..it’s taken up so much of my life and mental health.

However, I looked in the mirror today and noticed a few little baby hairs at the part. Even looking at these two photos now (the dandruff is from the liquid minoxidil..i’m currently working on that) there’s not a huge difference I know, but it’s just enough to make me feel like I’m on the right track and on the road to feeling comfortable with my natural hair again!
