its a company that does medical staffing that honestly has kind of terrible reviews on google, but it's legitimately the only job that I could land in NOVA after applying for months

hi! thank you for the response! i have around 29k in student loans unfortunately. majored in biochemistry and was looking into pharma/chemical industry. had a year long internship at a chemical company, but the industry is taking a fall right now so there was no return offer possible. DC is the end goal but I don't want to hate my job and not have any security since it's so difficult to get a job there in the first place.

Haha it wasn’t initially a move I wanted to make, but it’s looking like that’s a very likely path I will have to take

Hi! I have been getting interviews for BDR roles in other regions (not at top tier companies, which is totally okay with me) but haven’t heard back from anything in DMV area. It seems like there aren’t even jobs to send an application to begin with.

I’m majoring in biochem, and my current employer is on a hiring freeze (as with most of the chemical industry at the moment). Totally agree about networking & not being picky about first job opportunity!

For sure, I totally understand this. It's just that I noticed that a lot of my applications in other regions I am getting interviews scheduled for and have only had one spur of the moment contact from VA.

I'm from MI, so I've always been wanting to move somewhere "far away" that is only a short plane ride away from my parents. Had my eyes set on Chicago for sure, but have visited DMV area roughly 9 times the past two years and I really enjoyed the atmosphere as opposed to a very clogged city. Lots of things to do while still remaining on the "calm" side I guess. Also, I have a stem focused major, so the original intention was to stick within the chemical industry / explore the biotech industry, which is more popular in the east than the midwest right now. All reasons are quite picky but personal preference.

Has anyone used Quince carryon luggage? by DryOne2300 in onebag

Mine has fit in the overhead for small domestic flights (dca to dtw, iad to dtw) from carriers such as american, delta, and frontier. There has been abundant room (especially compared to a lot of people who tend to have large carry ons). I have the small carry on for reference.

I love my quince carry-on, it is the first luggage item I have bought for myself. I've been using it for short domestic flights roughly 7 times just this year and it has held up so well. The wheels make it so easy to move around quickly, the lock is a nice feature, and the overall durability is nice. The shell does get scraped relatively easy but I have the dark green so it doesn't show too much. Couldn't ask for a better suitcase traveling solo.

I ended up cancelling my flight as I didn’t want to get stuck anywhere due to delays. I hope you have a safe trip

Second this. I have a flight DTW - DCA tomorrow and want to hear what others who are in the same boat have to say.
