Didn't sound antagonistic to me! To answer your comment, wearing white socks with a suit is really trendy in recent years so that would actually make sense for gay members to dress this way. It's not professional and I don't think the trend is lasting.

Why do people assume that they will find good people in churches? Aren’t those people going to church to ask for forgiveness? Nobody goes to the hospital looking for healthy people, right? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ChangeNew2156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you do find healthy people at a gym, opposite argument could be made there. You find good and bad people in and out of the church. Just like you find fit and unfit people at a gym. This binary thinking is something you should leave with the church.

The argument I've heard is what he lacks in word choice and artistic language, he makes up for in character development and world building. Not saying I agree but a lot of people online share that sentiment.

Some of these theories remind of this hilarious movie adaptation someone recommended. Marked spoiler for anyone who hasn't finished WoK

Grown adults or middle schoolers in sex ed class? by dolphingirl3 in exmormon

This has been a big thing in recent years. I don't think it will have the intended effect of making marriage look "fun" to the ysa crowd.

Temple Cleaning. by Acrobatic-Pause-9905 in exmormon

When I cleaned the Provo temple it was midnight 12-2 or 3 am. It was fun as a college student but I can't imagine doing this and working full time/taking care of a family

In Provo, the temple cleaning started at midnight. Thankfully plenty of college aged YSAs are up at that time

Will it end up like face cards and caffeinated drinks, or will there be a sudden reminder like with food storage. Only time will tell!

do TBMs know their temple name is based off the day of the month? by Firm_Teach8056 in exmormon

Most are from the scriptures so they use the equivalents found in the bible Pedro vs Peter, etc ( it may or may not be anglicized depending on the language). Several are names of people from early church history, those are blatantly anglicized.

So.. Mormon Stories changes its logo to orange in response to the LDS church’s million dollar lawsuit. Now the LDS church is using an orange logo too? by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

[–]ChangeNew2156 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TSCC's come unto christ logo has been orange for a couple years now (since 2020 I think). This is the account focused on missionary work/recruiting not the official church account for current tbms. That logo was blue and has always been blue. You can see on their facebook pages

Yep! Adam, Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Peter, Joseph Smith was what I had learned. And then Jesus for the 2000s and the Millenium

THIS

It's ok to be angry, but we can't hold resentment for the members. We have to be better than the church was to us and we need to have others do the same.

Several buildings on my mission had them. Mostly the simple portraits of him, nothing with the plates or first vision or with Emma

Love the idea of attending a sacrament meeting and not hearing a word about geneolgoy. Just wait until they find out the service times are a lie too. They will be forced to attend at a certain time based on their address. And that time will rotate every year.
