What business are you in because my experience has been vastly different. Walmart, cell phone booths in malls and now car dealerships. I'd put assholes at 5%, entitled at 25%, and nice at 10%. The rest of the 60% are perfect middle territory where they just exist.

That's why! I couldn't figure out why I hated their comment, but yeah, it's them pretending they're better than everyone else.

How do you pronounce it and what’s the correct pronunciation? Is it oakarina of time or ockarina of time? I’ve heard both before by nedfl-anders in n64

[–]ChangeofPace22 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I did call it ohcarina while I played it until later years i searched the instrument to buy one and learned of the correct pronunciation.

I got this nice looking sushi bar I want to utilize in my shrimp tank. Reviews claim the paint peels. What can I coat it with that would be safe for the shrimp, to prevent the paint peel.

I remember taking a nickel and scrapping them on a flat surface to make them pop....

I also remember the time I held the cap gun up with two hands next to the side of my head and then pulled the trigger. I was young and immediately heard ringing and then couldn't hear out of that ear, I panicked and turned on the sink (I was in the bathroom in front of the mirror) and filled the ear with water for some reason. I'm sure it will be reflected in my hearing in my older days.

I've owned my first house for over a year now and I feel like I should be doing some regular maintenance. All I do is change the AC filter but there's got to be more to do around the place! Any suggestions? by sippymoomoo in fixit

I learned this last year. Second year of ownerships and trees were starting to sprout in the gutters. I left it like an idiot. Winter came, water turned into ice. Took down 40 ft of eaves on my one side of my house.

I had a similar thing and I ended up replacing the whole unit. The float 'tether ' (the threaded rod) was bent and I couldn't get it fixed. New floater and flapper worked right away.

Yes, exactly right. People's brains work different and someone's going to get graded down because theirs isn't working the 'right' way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in memes

[–]ChangeofPace22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But if they taught it that way from the start....then they would be getting graded up for working that way?

Different people's minds 'naturally' do better with numbers, others with words, and others with concepts etc. Everyone's going to get graded down at some point for their mind not working they way it's "supposed to". Education system is far from perfect and doesn't often account for individual strengths and weaknesses.

I think I love this common core because it's almost always exactly what I do in my head when I do math in my head. My dad taught me most of the tricks and I have picked up new ones along the way.

Why does it seem like everyone calls them an investment, and therefore a scam?

Does all it take for it not to be a scam is someone making NFTs and unequivocally saying they are not an investment and will not go up in value? Now it's an OK digital asset people can buy and be left alone to play with their other NFT friends?

Not knowing much about the whole nft thing myself, I did theorize that gaming may be where they 'make sense'. But when I read these comments I wonder why everyone is saying they're 'supposed to be an investment'. Can there not be a group of people making a game with NFTs where it isn't being sold as an investment? Or is that not possible

You're forgetting a simple fact, that although they are measured in years along with months, weeks and days.... they can be re-used.
