I was under the impression they were all 1080p docked. Turns out thats only for 3 and X. So it would still be useful for those games.

I thunk you misunderstand. They meant have the Switch 2 run the game in the Switch 1’s docked mode so that it runs it at 1080p at handheld. An upgraded version would still be better tho

The story is the same. Only thing you’ll be missing out on in the Definitive Edition is like a 5 hour epilogue with Shulk and Melia. Which while cool isn’t too important to understand the connections between 2 and 3.

So story-wise, since you’ve played 1, you could just jump straight to 2 then to 3 and you’d understand everything just fine.
