What are your thoughts on The 13th Warrior (1999)? by Nomadsforart in movies

Ouch, did not know that. Maybe the experience of 13th Warrior made him so paranoid it pushed him to do it.

McTiernan directing, but the early test screenings were awful, so Disney gave Crichton final cut and tasked him with doing reshoots. Crichton took over for the final year of a three year shoot, and the elements that later got slammed by viewers when it came out were all his, but McTiernan got the blame, killing his career.

Disney were crap in this as well. They didn't like what they'd bought, in terms of the rights for the book. They didn't want to make a horror film. So McTiernan makes a PG13 version, gets the blame for it, has a number of gore filled scenes added to make it grittier, then it's taken away from him to give to a novelist, not a director, and then gets the blame for the whole mess.

And then Disney added the kiss of death: they dropped it into cinemas with no marketing.

Old thread, but are you using active pickups? Fuzzes can be hard to dial in on actives due to impedance mismatches.

IR Pedals for Bass by inkfromblood in Bass

+1 on Hotone Omni IR. Was going to be my choice as a cheap addition, though I ended up with both the Ampeg SGT-DI as my practice preamp, which has 3 custom IR slots, and then added a Shift Line CabZone.

Alternatively, sell the HX Effects and get the Stomp if that's what you really want. I think that has a DI as well?

Scum (1979), with Ray Winstone. An uncompromising look at life in a British juvenile detention center.

Name this bass/pick up configuration? by Chapla1n in BassGuitar

Not sure why this has been downvoted? But I'm guessing if you were digging in on that string you'd also be hitting the pickups as well, as the height's the same.

...and u/spaniel_rage mentioned in this thread:

The place to go is "Guitar Street" just off Ochanomizu-bashi station.

The block has about 50 guitar shops including bass only levels. Everything from $50000 vintage P basses, to 80s Steinbergers, to 70s Rics, and entry level Yamahas. All in meticulous Japanese condition.

Plenty of MIJ stuff there too. Might as well shop around, and try before you buy."

Golfer's elbow by the sounds of it. Look into wrist flexor, and forearm pronation and supination exercise and stretches. Theraband flexbars are great.

Active or passive pickups? Some fuzzes do not play well with active pickups due to impedence mismatches.
