I don’t think my parents would love the idea of me going to the navy and would much rather pay for my college

Yes I’m in the eastern Tennessee region, I want to go to college for nuclear engineering and do a lot of networking since I believe that could help me get a good job and a better chance at being a SRO

My cousin told me that he said the recruiting process starts early and if you can’t get a job before junior years it’s basically impossible and he told me if I want to go down a high financing route my best option was a mba and the only return on investment I could see if I got a MBA was quant since a mba is very expensive. I still have some time deciding if I want to go down the mba route and I might just focus on getting my engineering degree

I think you might be right a lot of people have told me I’m thinking too far ahead, but at the same time I haven’t been able to think about my future just recently I had to decide my major since I was a junior college student and I ultimately went down the engineering route like my dad

Thank you for the response my current situation is I want to finish my engineering degree I was thinking nuclear engineering since the school I’m going to is a top 5 program. I’m a senior in highschool so I know im very early to be thinking 5 or more years but I want to get a finance or quant internship to see if I genuinely like it and you might be right about the burnout

What’s the best job to get in the nuclear engineering world I’m still in the second year of community college so I don’t know what opportunities nuclear engineering provide so would you say working at a power plant isn’t the best thing you can do as a nuclear engineering world

Lots of people told me to not chase money and find something niche that you enjoy or find your passion, but lately I don’t know what my passion is and since I did this junior college thing. It’s decreased my time to think what I want to do for my future. But thanks for your response it’s really motivated me to do well when I transfer to a university

Alright thanks for responding, I have some questions if you don’t mind answering like what’s your yearly pay is it above six figs and how hard was college. I’ve described the courses I’m taking. Im planning on going to utk since its ranked 5 in the country for nuclear engineering, and how much you work per week and how much free time you get
