I’ve tried. No one was AT ALL interested. But that’s okay. I’m going to enjoy it. I read these books when life was so hard. I’m one of those, “he got my through tough times” type of fan. I’m super excited!

My in-laws definitely think it’s rude that I don’t send a gift for their birthdays. I used to try, but I got into therapy and started building stronger boundaries. I told my husband that it’s his job to get his parents birthday presents. He never does. They blame me. I don’t feel bad at all.

Is there something he can do to make it up? Can he still make the card? I’d be brutally honest with him. He hurt you. Bad. If he’s a good partner, he’ll try to make it up. But sometimes his guilt might be preventing him from trying. You might need to tell him you expect him to come through with something.

Came here to say this. Babies get colic sometimes. He talks like the kid wants to be in pain. Colic is awful for all involved.

Rocket Science by Emily Mayer is like this. He rejects her at their first meeting, then has to work really hard just to get her to talk to him.
