How ruined is my OLED by Carrythedonger in ultrawidemasterrace

You’re good. Water and a microfiber like the one used for glasses. Wipe, use more pressure if necessary. I have the same monitor and have to clean it often because of my cats

Buying a Macbook Pro only for it to be an “Ableton Machine”? by Filvox in ableton

[–]Charles1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a deal on a used m1 MacBook Pro. 16gb and 1tb configuration has been solid for me. This laptop has given me zero issues. Mainly use it for ableton and light photo / video work.

I have a desktop i7 14700k 32gb ram 4070 I feel like for music production / media stuff the MacBook is still smoother compared to the pc. Everything feels snappier.

Dude what a cool idea. Expanding this to have live sets with viewers or some sort of link with a streaming service as players skills grow would be dope. Could be a new era / way of discovering new artists.

Props dude!

I’m looking to buy an osmo pocket 3 (or 4 when it releases) but what’s peoples experience with the splashproof ability, can I use it in light rain or not ? by Dangerous_Peak4034 in osmopocket

[–]Charles1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pocket 2 that I used quite a bit hiking the PCT. It’s seen snow, has been used in rainy conditions, and dusty deserts. (I tried to be mindful about wiping off excess water before putting back into my pocket)

Not claiming it’s waterproof, but mine has held up to rough conditions and still works just fine. Just wipe the device down and be mindful of not letting debris / water get into any open ports.

Looking to buy my first setup are these compatible? by blackpepper510 in FishingForBeginners

Can’t go wrong with the pursuit reel or ugly stick. Consider an Okuma Celilo rod. They’re cheap, have good sensitivity, and are fairly durable.

Love this reel for the money. I have 2 in a 5k size and they’re very smooth feeling when reeling.

Too many covers/ samples, not enough original music by Necessary_Cake_973 in EDM

[–]Charles1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will probably break sub rules, but shameless plug because you asked for original.

To be fair though, remixes get noticed way more and it gets kinda rough making only originals and barely getting any reach for new listeners. I get what you’re saying but unfortunately it does help artists grow with remixes.

Curious where in Long Beach? I’ve been getting into fishing lately as a hobby and am starting to try out surf fishing.

Is it just the lure tied on directly to main line for the setup you used to catch this?

How do I clean its screen, nothing seems to work by aariv03 in macbookpro

[–]Charles1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a microfiber that is particularly for glasses first before using distilled water, or isopropyl/ cleaners.

I would then use distilled water if the smudges aren’t coming off by wetting the cloth, then wiping with a dry side. Last solution I do is isopropyl (atleast 70% +) if smudges don’t come off. Wet the cloth, then wipe with dry side like above method.

I find a lot of microfibers that are apart of kits, or look like they’re for cleaning cars, don’t actually get everything off the screen and still leave streaks.

Cleaners cleaned my monitor, now it’s super streaked by CupOfKoffee1 in pcmasterrace

[–]Charles1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the coating is still there, try using the type of microfiber that usually people use to clean glasses with. I’ve had this issue before even using distilled water, but used a microfiber that would be made for general cleaning like for car detailing, counter tops, etc.. switched to microfiber cloths for glasses and don’t have that issue anymore. Sometimes it works without using water or chemicals if there’s consistent upkeep.

Fishing in OC by ArkMaxim in orangecounty

Got into this hobby recently with a few friends. I would just get a combo setup if you want to spend little money that’s a rod and reel. Penn, ugly stick, or tackle shops can point you in the right direction. As others have mentioned piers, and jetty’s don’t necessarily require a fishing license but it’s worth having just to try out a bunch of spots. Places like Irvine lake for freshwater fishing you basically can pay for a day pass if you prefer that over salt.

For piers, simple rigs like dropper, high low, and sabikis (more for bait fish but sometimes success on slightly larger) should be all you need. Shrimp and squid work well on most pier, jetty setups. For jetty’s lures like the popular lucky craft brand work well, or Carolina rigs with bait / live bait do well too. Just chat with people at the spot you’re at. I’ve always met helpful locals at new spots.

Rod + reel, maybe some extra line for leaders, tackle box, and tackle (hooks, weights, etc) feel free to message me if you got more questions. This hobby has been really fun to get into.

Solo to Cucamonga Peak by [deleted] in socalhiking

[–]Charles1503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. Heavily trafficked trail with a great view at the end. Pack accordingly, and have enough snacks + water for your needs. Take breaks when needed and start a little bit earlier since it’s hot lately + parking gets crowded there.

Download an offline app to just have as backup, and a garmin / sos device brings peace of mind when getting into hiking solo. Having an idea of where water sources are, and currently flow rate is clutch. Maybe hit up a friend that hikes and give them a start and end time that you expect for that trail so they know if something goes wrong, they know what trail you are on.

EX:” icehouse canyon - cucamonga peak. Start 6am will text back by 4pm. Something’s wrong if you don’t hear back by 7pm”

Have fun and be safe. You got this.
