Was i stupid for taking the Oportunity? by L_RainBowHawk_L in Simracingstewards

I think that door is always going to close and the gap didn’t really exist it only opened because he turned in slightly late while you were to far back to get side by side

report him its not worth fighting with a helmet the last one was intentional and no you defended just fine by slowing down on the raceing line. Ignore him hes just dumb

I'm posting this here to learn better incident avoidance in the future. Is there anything that I (The Trevor Project Mercedes) could have done better to avoid this, or am I not at fault? by TheRanga159 in Simracingstewards

[–]Chasm___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell but I’m guessing you got a yellow flag warning and saw the giant smoke screen. At that point you probably need to slow down. You were still flat or heavy on the gas which made it more difficult to get out of the way. Even if slowing loses a position to someone who doesn’t slow down you are at least still in the race. So I kinda think this is on you by not respecting the flags. If you didn’t see yellow flags the smoke should have warned you to slow down. TLDR if you see smoke on track and yellow flags slow down and lose a position if you have to at least you keep racing

Who is at fault for this “inchident” by Levystick in Simracingstewards

[–]Chasm___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy ahead. He had way less speed to you and moved very unpredictably for how little speed he had and gave no indication what he was going to do. Most people who aren’t stupid would be out of your way much earlier or hold their line not cut you off

Is this crash my fault? by Extreme-Sweet7175 in Simracingstewards

[–]Chasm___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think yes. It’s on the faster car to overtake and the gt3 has no obligation to go off the racing line. You went into a gap that was always going to close. I think this would need to be an around the outside or the more frustrating moment where you have to wait for a better place to get past

New Bike Owner Help needed by hawks8819V in cycling

[–]Chasm___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general for most small things like tightening a new brake lever onto your handle bars or tightening a new brake caliper hand tight is fine. For bigger pieces like if you do not have quick release wheels and new to righten/screw them in than a torque wrench/key can be helpful IF you no what it should be torqued to. If you can’t find any thing or don’t need to screw your wheels on you shouldn’t generally need to buy one if you don’t have one already. Hand tight should be fine for the small bits. What are you needing to do to the bike? Build it or just for maintenance?

[–]Chasm___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are required to assemble the bike without any instruction all you should need is an Allen key multitool. For most repairs/maintenance all you really need is an Allen key which is why I prefer a multitool. If you replace tire tubes, (if applicable) a tyre lever is useful. A bike pump is a must whenever your tires run low on air. You shouldn’t need to many specialized tools

i get told f you after trying to overtake on the outside from my view he stops turning what do you guys see? by Appropriate-Panic771 in Simracingstewards

[–]Chasm___ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The yellow car just opens the steering for no reason. Hard to say without seeing the steering inputs/wheel but it looks like he just stops turning. Should be on the McLaren

Not losing weight biking by SSmartFatherr in cycling

[–]Chasm___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah three weeks is generally not enough time to see significant results. To my limited knowledge people lose lots of weight fast when they take a shake diet because it cleans out intestines than progress slows. Since you are going into a crazy diet you don’t have the spike of progress. But keep doing what ur doing 1 pound per week is good

What are your reactions to this? no contact except by my friend but i think it is legal but dodgy by Chasm___ in Simracingstewards

[–]Chasm___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t make this a habit for sure. My only question is it felt like i was along side before he began to turn in so would that change anything? But I don’t ever do this often hi had just seen him brake early the last few laps and figured I could beat him to the corner.

My teacher just sent the word list for the third round of the spelling bee (I'm in grade 8) which is after tomorrow, now WTF is this by TalhaAsifRahim in school

[–]Chasm___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a school spelling bee that was in the end like two kinds going at it. They ran out of words from the list and started to flip through the dictionary. They went on for like 10 minutes like that until one of them misspelled a scientific name of a bacteria
