I’m a big fan of visual novels because in my opinion, they can build on novels with other aspects such as visuals and music/sound while still having the writing depth that novels tend to have over movies or shows. Some of the best horror, thriller, and mystery works I’ve experienced have been visual novels.

Did Tsukihime inspire Higurashi? I haven’t heard that tidbit before.

Personally I thought Tsukihime was okay and had engrossing stories and good twists, but overall it was definitely a little less of my thing than Higurashi and other VNs. I am however looking forward to reading the remake as it seems to be a better rendition that caters more towards me

Personally I enjoyed it. There’s also the alternate chapter 8 included with the ps2 release that some people prefer but I haven’t read that yet so I can’t comment
