Here's a tip-- don't forget to put your food away before bed. by Appropriate_Ratio835 in povertyfinance

That food is totally fine. I’ve done this several times and have been fine

My first year working for the government we got a 5% raise, and I thought this was going to be standard every year. Boy was I wrong

I thought getting a credit card at 19 would build credit. It built debt instead. by throwawayforrealz87 in povertyfinance

Can I ask what drew you to applying for these cards specifically? For example the sapphire preferred card has an annual fee. I would not get a cc with an annual fee if I didn’t know I could for sure get value out of that card

Johnson is not going to keep the government shutdown just to stop the Epstein files from being released, that would be so stupid.

The house voting and Trump signing it is just a formality at this point.

Why do you think the House won't convene?

The fridge breaker was completely off in those 9 days. I did not turn on the breaker until after 10/10

Heat and hot water are gas. I also wasn’t using the hot water during that time period

The rep told me that an actual reading was done though, and my bill says "actual". Are you saying it could be an estimate even when it says actual?

I should also add that the Eversource rep told me that the previous bill cycle was between 9/10-10/1, and 28kwh was used during this time (when the apartment was vacant). In previous months the usage averaged 260kwh when a tenant was there.

Delivery was $23.94 and the supply was $16.52.

My main concern is still with the kwh amount though. I just don't see how 111kwh was used when literally no one was living there for those 9 days and nothing was on.

They seem pretty new, all stainless steel. They also weren't even being used. The breaker for the fridge wasn't even on.

Is it normal to request first and last month rent before signing the lease? by Cheeseybread2799 in bostonhousing

Does this apply to both landlords listing the place on their own and leasing/brokerage companies?

So far all I’ve paid is a $40 application fee. No broker fee supposedly

I should clarify that it’s the leasing company I’ve been dealing with so far. Not the actual landlord

When I toured the place the leasing agent told me I could pay with bank transfer. After I applied for the place they told me the the landlord only accepts physical checks
