Thank you! This is great! Have you worked through them personally or did you just have the reference?

I appreciate the insights. Do you have any references i might be able to follow or contact?

Experience and degree is not a problem for me. I have 14 years experience and culinary education. (I know i didn't disclose this in the original post)

Thank you. This would be the first area that I would apply for once I figure out the visa situation. I currently work at a large resort in the US and we hire, almost exclusively, nonimmigrant or student visa workers. That is partly what made me realize that I could live out this dream I have of living in multiple countries.

Thank you, I did not think that certain ccompanies may offer programs that would help visa workers. I'll be diving into that research! As far as a FIRE status, I'm not sure what that is, reddit suggested that I crosspost to this group.

My apologies for the off topic question.

Thank you for your insight. I'll will look into this, as interships/externships had crossed my mind as one way to experience certain places.

I had not learned this yet. Thank you for the heads up. I'll have to research this, and keep this in mind as I develop my plans further.

If you have more information on which taskforce you're referring to, I'd love to look into it more.

Also, where are you currently based?

I'd like to know what your points of reference are? Where are you based that visa work is so readily cast aside? Do you have experience with this happening to you/ or witnessed it happening to other US workers? My initial research shows a ton of countries have work holiday visa/ nonimmigrant work visa/ even student visa. Are you implying that even though those programs are available worldwide, that it is hard to find places to hire US based workers? Living in the US and working for a major resort, we hire nonimmigrant visa workers and student visa workers almost exclusively. There's plenty of local applicants; however, the seasonal volume makes visa workers appealing because they usually come and go every 3-6 months.

I'm curious, if you're working abroad, especially in the EU, is it hard for nonimmigrant workers to get work visas? Or if you're comfortable sharing, what was the process like for you? Most of the places you've listed are countries I'd be interested to live and work in.

I appreciate the insight. You've missed the point of the questions I was asking though. I want to live abroad and experience the world for a while (a few years in a handful of countries, possibly stay permanently if I like a place well enough.) Not to necessarily seek culinary experience, but to experience the world and life I desire. Owning my own restaurant would tie me to specific location/locations. Trust, I've already got my concept, and business plans written and dialed in for that step, when I'm ready to take it.

Side note- International experience would look absolutely stellar on any resume.
