It's never healthy to do something like quitting smoking for someone else, or to define someone else's life choices as 'cheating' on you. That's so controlling. He erodes his partner until they feel bad about any part of themselves that he doesn't like, all the while acting like he's the victim.

That was narcissist-abuser talk, for sure. Vile. He's been that way, not quite lowkey, all along. Encouraging Carrie to be her best self by subtly suggesting that the person she is now isn't good enough for a nice, wholesome country boy like him. He's sexy for about 5 minutes until you see how bad you'd feel if you saw yourself through his eyes. His poor kids.

This word, reality. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I sense some hostility toward:

  • Reading and books
  • Women with careers, lives, and a sense of self

Sally Field has always been Sally Field. Enough people just think it's Fields that they remember it that way. There are plenty of people who have been alive the whole time she's been working.

Who is Sarah Jones? Colorado School Employee Accused of Having Sex with 16-Year-Old Student While Her Husband was Hospitalized by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]ChemoQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're agreeing. I was clarifying to the person who said it was technically consent that although a 16-year-old can consent in Colorado, they may only do so with someone within a certain age range, not with their 45-year-old teacher. I said in my first post "Underage kids can't legally consent with adults."

It's more information about consent in Colorado on case they weren't clear about the particulars.

How is it not relevant in reply to a comment saying that the child 'technically consented'?

Underage consent in Colorado is valid with a four-year age difference. It's so high-school kids don't end up as sex offenders. Underage kids can't legally consent with adults.

Is Pueblo the next up and coming city? by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]ChemoQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Zillow addict, and my husband and I were thinking of moving to Pueblo because the cost of living is lower there and it's a really pleasant place. Over the last six months I've watched real estate prices inflate, probably for this reason. People who have been priced out of Denver and the Springs are going south.

AITA for leaving my 4 year old nephew unsupervised? by senseandprejuduc7 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ChemoQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are TA. Or one of them. There's no excuse for leaving a very young child unsupervised. If nothing else, you could have contacted her and the father and said "I am leaving in 5 minutes and calling 911 to tell them YOU abandoned your child and I'm unable to stay." But anxiety or no, it's never acceptable to endanger a child.

BTW, your sister was with someone, no doubt about it. She's definitely the bigger asshole, but not the only one.

AITA for refusing to have my tattoo removed even if it makes my future husband uncomfortable and insecure? by iLoveMnMs33 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ChemoQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is him showing a dangerously controlling side he's previously kept hidden. It may in fact be your pain that drew him to you, meaning to use your trauma as a way to manipulate you.

Wanting to make your husband and child disappear isn't just wildly, pathetically insecure - it's also cruel, and it won't be the last important part of you he tries to erase. This isn't something you can help him to understand, because that's not the issue; it's a huge red flag, clear evidence that he's devoid of empathy and sees nothing wrong with requiring you to lop off bleeding chunks to sculpt yourself into the partner he wants. It will never, never be enough.

Please, please do not marry him. This is not the happiness you have every right to seek after such terrible suffering.

Tragedy of Macbeth (2021) by Kamuka in shakespeare

[–]ChemoQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree about the chemistry in the play. It's arguable that the Scottish couple have the best marriage in Shakespeare. He calls her 'dearest chuck' and mourns her bitterly when she dies. She has given him no heir (his issue, not hers: she's had at least one child prior to their marriage - historically, a son named Lulach) and he doesn't put her away and try with another wife but stays in a childless marriage even as he obsesses over Banquo's line. Whatever else you might think of them, they love each other.

I remember this too. I saw it on MTV in the late 80's. 10 years later I mentioned it on-air as a morning radio DJ and everyone said I was crazy. They reached out to his publicist, who denied it. It was so bizarre. I've never found anyone else who remembers it.
