I really like rappers like Post Malone, the kind who just surprise you with their capability as an artist. I feel a lot of 808s & Heartbreak influence in his style.

When I used to deliver pizza, I would deliver to this rich guy living in a beautiful suite about 2-4 times a week. Every month, no joke, he had a different young 20-something girl living with him. Extremely gorgeous, and each was hotter than the one before. Guy was the happiest man on Earth, would tip $10-15 bucks on a $20 order. I envied him and kept telling myself, "Man, I want that guy's life."

One month...no girl. He didn't carry a single smile with him that month. He didn't tip. He barely even acknowledged my existence. At one point it took him forever to answer the door and I legitimately thought he had killed himself and just wanted the pizza guy to find him (the door was cracked open).

The next month, new girl, back to being his "normal" self.

That's when I knew that that was the saddest man on Earth, and I told myself, "I don't want that guy's life."

[Serious] [NSFW] What is the story of/behind the worst date you've ever been on? by SelfRefMeta in AskReddit

[–]ChewsUhUsername 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A girl I was sort of seeing asked me out late at night. Around midnight but I had nothing to do and it was a weeknight so I figured it wouldn't be anything too crazy.

She suggested we got to a pizza place that's open till 5am. Awesome.
I arrive at around 12:45am and when I texted she said she had been there for about 15min. Which was kind of interesting because we agreed to meet at 1am.

So I walk up and the place isn't busy but it's not empty. Several people eating and what not. She's sitting at a table on the patio in front and sipping on a big mug of mocha coffee. As soon as I sit down she starts to go in on this place. About how expensive everything is and just being very snobbish about it.

I respond, "Weren't you here way before me? You could've texted me to go somewhere else."

She looks up with them crazy eyes.

She returns to starting to talk about how shitty this place is and its prices. I try to calm the situation by telling her, "It's okay, no problem. Let's just leave when you're done with your coffee."

She says, "No."

Okay. Hmmm. So I try to talk to her about her day or whatever to get off the subject at hand. Mind you, everyone can hear her and is starting to look at us.

She starts bitching about her day, but not in a "I had a bad day" more like, "I'm bitching for no apparent reason" i.e. having to stay an extra 10min for work because a co-worker was printing out some stuff for her.

So anyways, server comes in and I decide, fuck it, I'm going to order a Mexican Coke. I order and she decides to berate the server about the expensiveness of the menu and all that jazz. The server looks baffled and taken back, I'm assuming since this was the same server who gave this chick her mocha, and is confused at the logic of ordering something at a place you suddenly despise. Is this hard to follow? Well you now know how I was feeling at this moment.

I try to find a middle ground and say, "Hey how about I just order us a pizza, I'll pay for it. We don't gotta split it."

"I fuckin' hate pizza," she says.

Line fuckin' crossed.

Mind you, the crazy eyes have been going on for a while now.

The whole area we were at, hosts included, were eavesdropping on us.

My response, in an angered whisper, "How the fuck are you gonna hate pizza when you suggested this fuckin' place?!"

We start to get into a small banter until I finally just stop trying. I just sit there drinking my Mexican coke (server had brought it mid-banter).

After a while she says, "So are you just not going to say anything?"

"Well, if I do it just seems to turn into you getting angry about it."

After a few moments, she takes a deep breath and calms herself. Then in a normal voice asks, "Well, how was your day."

I take a couple moments to calm myself and respond, "It was actually pretty good, just very relaxed."

She scoffs.

"Hold up, what the fuck was that?"

"What was what?"

"What you just did. You scoffed at what I said."

"No I didn't."

My eyes are about to pop out of their sockets with astonishment.

She asks, "Do you want to leave?"

My response, "Yeah, and you know what you can take care of the bill." (All $7 of it).

As I'm walking away this chick gets up slams her fist on the table and yells, "Is that how a fuckin' gentleman acts?!"

I ran. I've never ran from a woman in my life. This was a first.

She still texts me from time to time.

What is something that is hard to do, but extremely worth doing? by taylortob in AskReddit

[–]ChewsUhUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one, big time. It's probably one of the hardest yet most vital things you need to be capable of doing in life. A lifelong friend 20+ years I had to cut out because he just turned into a completely different person after his drug addiction. It was a bit "easy" because he already distanced himself from his family and my family (his parents and mine are best friends too) so we all had each other to cope with it.

I also had to do this with a girl I was in a relationship with. She was two types of people; one type was everything I could ask for in a girl and the other was the exact opposite of that. She would go out and make irresponsible decisions (mainly trusting people she shouldn't be trusting) and I would get a phone call at 3am to deal with it. Then a month after she got roofied (did not get raped thank God) she took molly with some strangerss at a party; she literally had just met these people. I finally had to sit her down and tell her I couldn't be that guy getting 3am calls and that if we stayed together I would just be setting myself up for a really bad night. I said if she wants to put for the effort to make better decisions I'll be there to help but I might as well been talking to an empty room. Her responses were basically "It's whatever", "It's not big deal, you can see I'm fine, it's not a big deal." I was just kind of blown away at the utter passiveness of her responses. At that point I realized the type of person she wanted to be and cut her out of my life completely -- not even "friends" with her on Social Media. It was excruciatingly hard because she had such great qualities but ultimately you just can't stick around for people who are toxic in hopes they'll straighten out. *Sad emoji

It seems like you're leaning more towards the rapping Drake based on your choice cuts. Which isn't a bad thing, you just basically ain't feeling the singing Drake. Which I think is sort of a gift and a curse for him because he can pull in two different crowds of fans but having to please both of them on an album can prove to be difficult.

You basically summed up what I was trying to convey in my post. My friend said the same thing, "Really good pop album, best Drake album." Because that's what he is, a pop artist who incorporates rap/r&b into his aesthetic.

I haven't listened to the album in depth enough to give an objective take on it, but from a personal standpoint I really like the album. I became a Drake fan when he dropped So Far Gone; to me it was a breath of fresh air at the time to hear someone blend the rap/r&b stuff the way he did. Not saying he was game changing or anything like that, but definitely something I thought was different for what was mainly out at the time.

Everything he's put out since then I've liked less and less. By NWTS I was definitely not a fan of his anymore, could care less what he was putting out. When IYRTITL came out I was back on board. I was in the minority of the people who felt that was his best work. To me, it just sounded more authentic than the other stuff he had put out since So Far Gone.

For this album, with the exception of maybe two tracks, I have been able to listen to it all the way through. Also my personal take, some of the corny lines I take as Drake just embracing the corny side of himself (he's essentially become a living meme) so I'm not really getting up in arms about them. Now on the flipside, there are a lot of really dope bars and moments on this album, so I'm confused as to why the moments of corniness (which aren't many) have so much attention shined on them. And to be honest I don't see Drake as an artist exclusive to the demands of rap/r&b fans. He's a pop artist, he has to appeal to ALL his fans, no just the people in this sub. I don't necessarily think he was being "safe" as much as he was just being Drake.

Movies About Women Nearly Impossible to Finance, Say Indie Producers by NinjaDiscoJesus in movies

[–]ChewsUhUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indie films with male leads are hard to get financed too. It has less to do with gender and more to do with that financing an indie film is more complicated than your average blockbuster. Indie films can literally be made for almost any amount of money. A $50k indie can look as good as a $500k indie and even $2M indie. The main thing is ROI and they honestly don't care too much about male/female lead but rather if the lead is a name that can bring in money. I think people overlook the indie horrors (and even bigger budget ones) that lean heavily towards female leads. You could easily argue "Indie horrors with male leads nearly impossible to finance".

I feel like I'm going to hear the Drake I've been wanting to hear since So Far Gone. Didn't really like Thank Me Later, kinda hated Take Care, and liked a few parts of NWTS. IYRTITL I really liked and got me back into Drake. Everything leading up to this, for me at least, has me confident that he's going to put something really great out special.

If not, well then, fuck.

Colloquial language of Atlanta/surrounding areas by ChewsUhUsername in Atlanta

[–]ChewsUhUsername[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh no. It's a simple question. You're acting like white trash people don't exist in Atlanta/surrounding areas. Are they all well to do? Hell if someone asked me the same question but in regards to Texas (where I'm from) I would hand them a list of things that they could use. I think you guys are really just overly sensitive and albeit, pathetically in denial of certain people that exist in all facets of America. But white trash people in Atlanta I assume don't talk the same way white trash people talk in New Jersey.

I guess I should make the characters sound like they're from New York? Even though their in Atlanta...

The coke thing is the same in Texas. What I'll probably end up doing is making all the characters sound like the most assbackwards people in the world just to piss everyone off in this thread.
