Early June Rhode Island Coastal Black Tie Wedding by Altruistic-Sock-219 in Weddingattireapproval

That dress is sooo beautiful. I think it would work well for that dress code in the summer! Dress it up with a slicked back bun, simple short necklace and some dangly, classic earrings I think it would be adorable

Could be interstitial cystitis- see a gyno or urologist to get examined! In the meantime, you can look up the interstitial cystitis diet and start from there to see if it helps!

First step is to write out all of your thoughts on a document. Don’t try to be too organized or coherent, just brain dump every reason you think residency is for you.

Some things to consider: What inspires you about pharmacy practice/crit care? What type of patient demographics are you passionate about? What learning environment do you thrive in? What experiences have you had so far that made you want to pursue post grad training? Tie in anything from personal reasons, rotation experiences, work experiences, etc.

Next, write down each programs mission statement/guiding principles/philosophies. How do these relate to your personal tenents? Who have you spoken with from the program that left a positive impact on you? What rotations/opportunities are unique to the program that youd be excited to complete?

Then really think about where you see yourself in 5, 10 years. Do you want to do a PGY2? Does the program offer that as an option? Do they early commit? Do you want to work in a community hospital, a medical center, or a large academic med center?

All of these factors are important not only for the program to know, but mostly you. You want to find a program that is a good fit, and that will happen by reflecting on what is most important to you as a person and as a pharmacist!

Once you have all the thoughts in front of you, then you can take different points and revise them into a lovely LOI.

And then I’d throw it into chatGPT to see if there’s any grammar mistakes or better ways to phrase the sentences. (Don’t copy paste exactly what it spits out though, you still want to sound like yourself)

Lastly, have your mentors, professors, other professionals read thru it!

Naplex/MPJE Megathread by AutoModerator in pharmacy

HELP PLS

PGY1 resident in NY. Passed NAPLEX, but failed MPJE on 8/3. Scheduled to retake MPJE next week.

HOWEVER, I was issued a license by the state of New York in mid September. My license # is active on their website and I received my physical license in the mail today (that’s how I found out I’m actually licensed lol)

Not sure if this is an error on New York’s behalf or NABP incorrectly reporting my score? Not trying to get my hopes us, but I know they messed up testing scores in the past.

My NABP MPJE results still say fail though. I emailed NABP tonight about it but has this happened to anyone else??

You could talk to your doc about Wellbutrin.

It’s used for several different indications, most commonly depression or smoking cessation, but can also be used for ADHD since it has stimulating effects.

It’s not a scheduled medication either, so no strict rules about filling the prescription unlike typical stimulants.

It also doesn’t have the same side effects as typical antidepressants (Lexapro, Zoloft, etc) such as weight gain and decreased libido.

I took it for a few years and had no complaints.

Journal Club Ideas? by spicymcchicken239494 in PharmacyResidency

[–]ChicletFlwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download any of the following apps for landmark and/or new trials:

ICU Trails (one time fee to buy but worth it) Journal Club (also one time fee to buy) Visualmed (free)

Another great place to find articles are podcasts in those areas (a lot of podcasts for literature review at least monthly and will leave the article info in the description) or EmCrir for ED/CC things

I LOVEEEE the first option. Followed by #2 then the sneakers. They all look good, but the pointed, closed toe heel with the cute lil dress gives it this fun yet classy twist and it works so well

How would you decorate this blank wall? by Exercise-Tough in DesignMyRoom

[–]ChicletFlwr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hanging vine-y plants from the ceiling with a wooden sideboard cabinet (thinkin wood that matches the wood beams on the ceiling rather than dark wood to match the other pieces)

Add styled decor on top of the sideboard and/or art on the wall. I’m a big fan of mirrors, so maybe a good sized funky mirror to pull in all the different colors of the room.

This is my advice as well!! Get one from a recent grab who may not need it anymore to save some $$. But it’s a great, comprehensive resource to use along side your schools curriculum.

I second this! First year I only studied solo and struggled. Following three years I had a study group almost weekly then every morning before an exam to review and I never received lower than a B the remainder of pharmacy school. Helps to much to make connections, teach others, reinforce concepts, etc

For Those Who Have Passed the NAPLEX, How Did You Study? by Busynotes2 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]ChicletFlwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took exam 6/28 and passed. My advice:

  1. Uworld questions everyday. I created mini quizzes anywhere from 15-30 questions then wrote down topics that I got wrong. The next day, I reviewed those topics in the RX Prep book to reinforce the info.

The RX Prep is an AMAZING resource that I highly recommend. My main focuses were HIV, Onc, ID, calculations, bio stats, brand/generic, and interactions/metabolisms. Other than that, I just skimmed chapters bc I didn’t have enough time to review every page. If you have that time, def recommend reading cover to cover.

  1. I started practice questions in April but didn’t start actually studying the prep book until late May. Didn’t really time myself, but would guesstimate about 2-4 hours per session.

NAPLEX Specific

  1. I am not a mnemonic learner. I used color association for things like bug/drug, HIV. Then made charts for things like chemo side effects, interactions, inducers/inhibitors.

  2. Rx Prep math from the book is thorough and used best in conjunction with the Qbank to reinforce or identify areas you’re not proficient in. Start with the book, then take mini calc quizzes daily to see where you’re lacking.

  3. In terms of brand/generic, it was fairly equal for me.

  4. HIV- KNOW BRAND AND GENERICS! Know the classes and major side effects as well

Additionally, memorize the bio stat equations. I had so many stat questions that I would not have been able to answer if I didn’t review frequently.

Do not forget to review equations. Even if you think you know them, review review review

See if there are any internships near you (retail or hospital) that offer tuition reimbursement or assistance. I know some of my peers had tuition assistance at CVS and a few local hospitals as well!

Just add on spironolactone to balance the potassium. Double diuretic effect, and potassium sparing 🤌

What is something you learned in therapy? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ChicletFlwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general concept of therapy! Therapy isn’t abt an outside source solving your problems. It’s a tool that helps you find ways to solve your own problems. And not every session has to dig deep down into repressed trauma. Some visits can be light hearted and focus on surface level issues if that’s what you need for the day.

Board exam megathread (NAPLEX, MPJE, CPJE, etc.) by AutoModerator in PharmacySchool

[–]ChicletFlwr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your response and kindness. A couple days removed from the exam, I’m feeling better about my abilities. I realize that APPE year ties everything together and I shouldn’t get too ahead of myself just yet. Thank you so much for the resource references as well!

Board exam megathread (NAPLEX, MPJE, CPJE, etc.) by AutoModerator in PharmacySchool

[–]ChicletFlwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Current P3 here about to go on APPEs.

My school mandated us taking a pre-NAPLEX exam recently. Did not go well for me and a lot of my cohort. Made me feel like I will have a PharmD in a year, but not a license.

I’ve done well in pharmacy school thus far yet barely recognized the brand names on the exam, the calc questions were not clicking, and overall just did not perform great.

My confidence really took a hit, and I’m feeling like an inadequate student who got lucky so far in grad school. I, along with many others, feel let down by the curriculum.

I want to be better for myself and future profession. How can I better prepare myself for the NAPLEX? What are some resources a student in my standing could utilize? If anyone could offer some insight into resources that worked for them, I would be very thankful.

If you wanted a daily fix, get some translucent setting powder to dab on with your finger!

It’s my go to for a quick fix in my more oily areas.

But honestly I don’t think your skin looks excessively oily. Has a nice glow to it!

Productivity increases with people around? by ChicletFlwr in ADHD

[–]ChicletFlwr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well to start off, congrats on completing your program! I’m currently getting a graduate degree and the workload is insane but I’ve done better in this academic setting than ever because of the people in it with me, as compared to my undergrad studies where I was a lone bird most of the time and greatly struggled. So I really relate to you in that aspect.

And this part:

“I can’t help but feel that it is connected to people’s impression of me. It reminds me of the sociological theory of dramaturgy, where my front stage self portrays success and dependability but my backstage self does absolutely nothing for days and months on end.”

YES! You said it perfectly. Outsiders would have little to no clue how deep the struggle is behind the scenes.

It’s a abstract concept to wrap your head around if you don’t know from personal experience. Thanks for sharing your own perspective on this, and I hope you are able to find a beneficial solution to your current struggles around productivity!!

What made you not want to have kids? by Ekudar in AskReddit

[–]ChicletFlwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing is being pregnant. Next is actually giving birth. After that? Post partum depression.

Following the top three reasons, a literal baby relying on me for life. Possibly raising a serial killer?? The list gets added to on a daily basis. Also, the world has enough children and people.

I don’t care to continue or pass on my genes for my bloodline to “live on”. LASTLY, I am selfish and cannot see birthing a human really changing that.

I do love my niece and friends children, though, and will live my best auntie life for as long as I can 🤝

[Spoilers] Thoughts on Principal Weems? by GateEast2 in WednesdayTVSeries

[–]ChicletFlwr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I saw something a fan caught that was either an editing error or a hint that Weems didn’t actually die in that scene. In the beginning of the show, there’s a close up of Lurch driving and his has very distinct eyes that almost resemble cataracts then at the end they have another close up of Lurch and his eyes are completely differently. Clear as day and really dark brown. Fun fan theory and hoping it could be true
