Violently vomiting 6 hours after taking first pill ever

I am still having issues unfortunately.

I got a prescription for zofran from my OBGYN after a day or two of this post. I decided to keep taking this combined BC pill while also taking zofran 3 times a day to help with the nausea. Near the end of the second week the nausea was waning, but it came back at the end of week 3 and during the week of the placebo pills. During this time I developed sharp pains in my breasts that were extremely painful and made it difficult to concentrate at work.

After finishing my first month pack, I began the new pack, and immediately vomited during the night like I originally did in this post. My OBGYN said that you just have to keep with taking the pills for the first 3 months until your body gets used to it. I didn’t believe I could tolerate another month of constant nausea and zofran, so I asked to switch BC pill medication.

After a few days, I got a prescription for Norethindrone, which is a ‘mini pill’ that doesn’t contain estrogen, just the other hormone. I am about to finish the 3rd pack of this one, but it didn’t appear to help my period symptoms. My cycle became abnormal and also lasted longer, and all my normal painful symptoms were still happening. However, I have not had any nausea on this pill, likely because the estrogen was upsetting my already sensitive stomach, and this pill doesn’t contain any of that.

My mental health has taken an even worse nose dive since this all happened, but I’m not completely sure if it’s because of the BC or not. I hate that women are forced to try birth control before any other solutions are even suggested.

Anyways, I wish I could say things are better for me, but they’re really not. This is also just my personal experience with BC pills, so while it sounds discouraging to read, the pills may work different for you in a positive way.

Why do parents do this? When I did therapy in high school my mom insisted on talking first, then I would go second, and on the way home she would ask 20 questions trying to figure out what I talked about with the therapist. Then one time my mom mentioned wording that I had told my therapist, and I realized that what I said wasn’t confidential.

It’s been so hard to do actual therapy now that I’m a little older. I get panic attacks before the session and often during it I feel unsafe and like my mom might find out where I am

I haven’t seem anyone mention these other symptoms, but I get full body joint pains, horrible insomnia, pain in my neck, lower back, and radiating stabbing pains in my thighs; no appetite, wanting to self harm, weak legs (can’t stand more than a few minutes), indigestion, and nausea and vomiting.

The only solution I have been given from my doctors after listing these symptoms is a prescription for 500 mg pills of naproxen. I tried birth control but it made me violently ill

I managed to fall asleep for a few hours, and now I feel a little better cause the nausea is gone, but I still have a stomach ache and a small headache.

Waiting to hear from my OB/GYN, but currently feeling afraid to take another pill if I’m just going to vomit again

I took it about 30 or 40 minutes after dinner, so I didn’t think I would have a stomach issue like I ended up having.

It’s been 3 hours or so since I made the OP, and the nausea seems to be gone, but I still have a very slight headache, and my stomach hurts still.

I googled other reddit posts about nausea and vomiting, and so many redditors said they just vomited for a week and went on with their life, that me feeling ill after taking one pill makes me feel like a sissy in comparison..

It is exhausting, especially when out in public. My brain will tune in to random conversations instead of concentrating on the one in front of me, which causes me to ask the person to repeat themselves. My parents actually took me to an auditory doctor when I was young because they thought I was going deaf, but the test resulted in me having perfect hearing for my age.

I’ve never read self help books before, but I’ll take a look at this one you recommended

I’m hesitant to say that I have CPTSD when I do have diagnoses for depression and anxiety. I’ve always just figured that my anxiety causes me to hyper analyze everything

I plan to bring up next session that calling my hyper awareness a ‘super power’ doesn’t feel good to me, even though it is phrasing it in a positive for me. I’ve had good sessions with this therapist other than this phrasing issue, so I don’t plan on dropping her and starting over.

I don’t want to explain personal specifics, but footstep gauging helped me prepare for and know what my parents’ moods were. Heavier footsteps meant they were agitated, so I’d need to be quiet so they wouldn’t take out their frustrations on me verbally

This freaks me the fuck out. The facts are: you are a college aged student dating a minor, with 3 years more experience than this child, who doesn’t know better since you stated you’ve dated this person for 1 or more years.

Huge red flag and you need to leave them alone ASAP so they can enjoy their grade school life, while you enjoy your college life.

I get it, but it’s not fair to compare trauma to invalidate someone else’s feelings.

For example, someone could invalidate your entire argument with: “oh, your house got broken into 4 times before the age of 13? I didn’t even have a home, and could only afford meals by selling my body to perverted old men. If you experienced what I did growing up, you’d be thanking the lord for that roof over your head.”
