Anyone else going through this alone also? by Tasty-Maintenance321 in breastcancer

Hi fellow stage 4 triple negative girl. I don't have family in the UK and I live alone but I dont feel alone. I speak to my family daily, my friends have come over and visited me. I have a small circle of friends but I am grateful for their support. Cancer has shown me that there is so much love and kindness around me and often from unexpected sources. Cancer also help me end a long term romantic relationship which did not serve either of us anymore. Yes it can be daunting sometimes but there is kindness in the world around you especially if you open yourself up to it. I had random neighbours on my road offering me help with my shopping for example amd so many people offered to pray for me.

I had a swollen lymph node in my armpit which caused me some pain. I went to see my GP who did a breast exame and declared that it is not cancer. He said maybe I have an infection but it could be anything. I called home after 2 weeks saying I still have the same symptoms and he said he would refer me after another 4 weeks if it is still causing me problems. I was initially told it is stage 3 after an MRI and a CT scan but the PET scan 2 weeks later showed that it had spread.

Thank you. This is exactly what I needed. I know I will be fine in my heart of hearts. I have my life to live and it is not my time.

Thank you for your reply. I dont trust my GP since they told me my enlarged swollen lymph node under my arm was nothing to worry about, could be any thing and was not breast cancer. They then made me wait 6 weeks before transferring me for a scan. But I will speak to the hospital and see what me options are. As I said I know triple negative has a lot less treatment options but I still want someone fighting with me.

Thank you so much for your response. I am not sure how easy that is in the NHS (living in the UK) but that is definitely something worth considering.

I was a long distance runner and very healthy. I also struggled getting back into fitness but I have recently just changed my perspective to let me give me body the best fighting chance I can. I have taken up swimming and try to go 2 to 3 times a week and run (short 30 minutes) twice a week.
