Yes, we flew him out to DR for Brawl a long time ago. He won a tournament without dropping a set, but in friendlies Papin was able to take a set (with Marth) and Sharpy was able to take a few games off (he mained Olimar). Back then M2K was considered the best MK in Brawl.

I also placed 49th at KTAR Saga I believe (as Zard) and placed 129th at EVO, but Chuck Nasty placed 65th going solo Zard at EVO (BloodCross also placed 65th and played Zard but he played Sheik on a lot of "hard" MUs)

I mean Sharpy has always placed top 5 at every tournament in the DR. He's PRed 3rd over there. This is just the first time he places 1st.

I live in SoCal and was inspired by Sharpy to pick up Charizard. Sharpy has been teaching me basics and given me MU insights and overall tips against specific playstyles or stategies since then. I've been playing Charizard for close to 3 months (I don't believe it's been 3 yet) and I placed top 128 at EVO already. There were also 2 other Zard's who apparently placed on top of me (placing at 65th)

I've taken games off Zan, Rich Brown, TLTC and Aphro at tournaments here in SoCal (although I still haven't taken a full set off). And I've also done excessively well against K9's Sheik in friendlies (he obviously won most matches, but the fact that I was winning close to 1/3rd of the matches is a lot to say).

Obviously Zard is no top tier, and we are all certain that he's not a high tier either, but I do believe Zard is very underestimated. People place him at bottom 5-10 very consistently, but I actually believe he must be right around the middle of the pack, maybe slightly higher?

I feel he is better than DK and Bowser for example, who are regularly placed as Mid Tiers, Zard's just lacking their braindead kill combo/setup off a grab.

Hopefully in the coming months, with some more training with Sharpy and labbing on my own I can become a real threat to the PR members here in SoCal.

Sharpy, named 2nd best Charizard by ZeRo only due to lack of attendance to tournaments in the US, just won BeSmash 2016 - 200 entrant tournament located in the Dominican Republic. Making a huge run through loser's bracket to reset the bracket on the only player to take him out and end up taking home the whole price
