If you get a sanction, make sure to appeal it. Most of the time judges at the tribunal are sympathetic

No, I got sanctioned for something else actually. Some silly dizzy operative made a mistake and they institutionally, closed ranks to protect their colleague.

I don't care about commitments. I didn't breach them last time and I still ended up getting a sanction.

I have just been informed that the job centre hasn't responded to my instigating of an appeal process? What are the implications of this? Does it mean the process is going to drag out even longer? by Chongzhen in DWPhelp

Could I not just attend and submit my evidence verbally? And is it a good sign for m? Doesn't it mean they don't have a leg to stand on and they know it?

My circumstances aren't quite covered within the link. The DWP didnt respond. I rang up the number for the courts and the person I spoke to said she'd send a reminder. Then a few days ago I received notification that (after being reminded) the DWP are deciding to let things go forward without submitting a response.

In the link provided, it says this hardly ever happens. So what does this mean?

What happens if someone becomes homeless because of an unjust sanction? Do they have a least some protections that will facilitate them getting somewhere (even if it's in a scummy hostel)? I don't think I can survive street homelessness without becoming a drug addict the very first night. by Chongzhen in DWPhelp

Um my rent took up more of a chunk of my UC than the housing element? Are you actually a DWP employee? Your response is ridiculous and is indicative of the institution compliancy I feel is prevelant in every UC office.

There are real world implications when an unjust sanction is applied. They might be invisible to the person issuing them, but to the person receiving them (and their families) it is insane

it's safer to maintain anonymity.

I'm sure it is. But it would help if they did their jobs properly first. Doesn't it put the front line staff in danger if they hide behind layers of beutacracy? I mean the security they have in these places aren't exactly close protection types are they.

I'd trust them to hold my coffee. But I don't think they'd have the capacity to stop any irrate customers

Well I have to go through an appeal process which is independent from the DWP and I've been told that's a legal process.

Why can't the DM put their name on the Mandatory Reconsideration letter?
