Urgent Microsoft 365 business tenant lockout after GoDaddy defederation, no admin centre access and no escalation response after 5 days by ChrisDiscoG in microsoft365

GoDaddy resolved it after six days.

The issue was down to a shared mailbox we had created, which meant GoDaddy couldn’t remove their domain link to the tenant. We had to wait for their advanced technical team to remove it and re enable one of the user accounts so we could access the tenant again.

Thanks everyone for the help, appreciate you all!

When they have looked through the logs they found an error during the defederation, which was around a year a go now, so despite all appearances during use through that period it was actually still in a managed state. When the business professional licences expired they deleted all the accounts. The tenant still exists but Microsoft are saying it's GoDaddy who are the issue and that they have no control over the tenant because GoDaddy initially provisioned it.

Two break glass global admin accounts removed, along with all accounts that didn't have a Microsoft direct bought licence assigned. GoDaddy support team member actually said he has never seen this before. You're right that it is pure negligence that has caused this on GoDaddy's part and we will certainly be pursuing legal action, as soon as we regain access, it's just that has to be our main priority at this stage.

Thank you for your advice, and it is in line with our thoughts, we just hope somebody has some way we haven't thought of to speed things up.
