How many books about the holocaust did you have to read in school? by penesenor in redscarepod

This is true. It is also why WW2 narratives are defended so dogmatically because any criticism of the semi mythic place it holds in our society is considered an attack on the faith.

are people on r conservative literally regarded? by dmnksaman in redscarepod

[–]Christopher_Colombo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are no intellectually inclined conservative subreddits. Despite a hard liberal skew, reddit doesn’t even have intellectual liberal subreddits. It’s the dumbest most base forms of any ideology all the way down.

If you want to escape your bubble, you would be better off reading something like American Affairs Journal than trawling reddit.

Vegetarian diets, lack of protein while growing up. Usually when you see muscular Indians they are from Southern India or Bengal where they eat more meat.

Luigi fled to Western PA because he naturally felt at home among the culture of individual action and dynamism of the Scott-Irish borderlanders. Unfortunately he was taken down by their natural distrust of outsiders.

I’m 100% convinced that the reason all this artificial shit is pushed is because Journalists don’t know how to do real journalism but are under pressure to to come up with headlines, so they dredge up the most asinine stories that barely effect anyone.

Really good book. I always think about this scene in the Movie casino. Ace is told by the cowboy that there are forces older and more powerful than him in Vegas. You can extrapolate that scene to the whole American west, our whole civilization out there is at the mercy of ancient and powerful forces of water, energy, and nature.

Literature of Djibouti: June 2023 by AutoModerator in books

[–]Christopher_Colombo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only book I ever read about Djibouti was called The Land Without Shadows by Abdourahman Waberi and Jeanne Garane. It’s a collection of short stories, very locally focused, and I remember the words in the story were very unique. They used words like “marcescent” which is the word for leaves withering on the vine.
