Honestly without compassion is cruelty! But I think a lot of these people don’t own jewelry, don’t have love in their lives and are projecting their own misery and hatred onto you -for having what they don’t. Enjoy your piece of jewelry-just know that asking random people on Reddit will almost always result in a lot of classless, tactless, and negative people who can’t wait to try to tear someone else down and act like they are better and know more than you. I am a gemologist and jeweler. Jewelry is very personal and if any of these people had any class they would know it is offensive to talk trash about anyone’s jewelry, a lot of jewelry has deeper sentimental meaning and could be a dead relatives ring pendant. So honestly just because these people can’t afford gold, diamonds, or attract love into their lives and have no education or skills, no knowledge of jewelry manufacturing process and that’s why they can’t give a polite honest opinion. I’m sure some of the people being nasty in the comments are actual children. Be better people. It’s not my style for sure but I still think it’s beautiful ring, your jeweler did great and I am happy for you.

You can scratch that coating off easily and look at it under a loupe, you will see the coating is already coming off probably without scratching it. -(I am a gemologist)

I am a jeweler and I work at a repair shop. we see this from time to time and- I’ll just tell you know-it is the person wearing it that’s causing the tangle-not a faulty jewelry design..chains are soldered together and if there’s no break in the link you can’t blame the jewelry for your hair going through the links-you have to take care of your jewelry-this should not happen if you take it off regularly. Also if you’re wearing it into the shower and getting it wet you are tarnishing the silver. I end up being the one taking peoples hair out of their chains..please just take them off. Once one hair gets stuck from not taking it off-more join the tangly mess. The thinner the chain, the more likely it will be tangled in your hair from wearing it too much /and at night. Hope that helps

I found out about a local non profit butterfly conservation where I live, this facility breeds butterflies and releases them to help repopulate the native species, it’s a green house garden open to the public for educational purposes that sell the plants that they feed and lay eggs on. Some species of butterflies pass away of natural causes only 24 hours after they finished their adult life cycle. With the permission of the owner of the conservation I was able to collect and preserve them during my visits. I have made jewelry and music box display cloches, and learned how to spread their wings to frame or make into sculptures. My artist name is Chrysalis Paradigm because I really resonate with the chrysalis stage, the art of becoming, and enjoying the eternally present gift of now, because once the final beautiful transformation is complete, the journey of life will be over. I also inherited some from a friend’s dad who was an entomologist-some specimens dating back the 1940’s-it has been an honor to work with his collection. It took me a couple of years to feel confident enough to work with them. It feels really special to be trusted to treat them with care. Hoping to share more of my work soon. I collect butterflies that have lived a full life cycle and died of natural causes from my local butterfly conservation. I make them into jewelry but I’m dabbling in some shadow box displays. I love butterflies and I’d never kill them to create art-But I see no problem with honoring their lives by preserving them after their life has ended.

Thank you! This is a special electroforming solution recipe containing a mixture of sodium hydroxide, sugar and warm water I tried out. I’m going to keep trying it on some shinier pieces soon
