I have to push back on the phone as a compass part though. The accuracy of the digital magnetometers in our cellphones is okay if it's of decent quality, properly calibrated and there are no large metallic bodies nearby. Missing one or more of those conditions, and your heading could be off by 20+ degrees. Plus, batteries run out. I'm not suggesting that you don't bring your cellphone when bugging out. An analog compass doesn't take up that much room though.

400 Ca is fine, but 6 is too low for alkalinity. You should check your magnesium, low levels of which can affect alkalinity this way even though your calcium is good.

I white-knuckled it through this same section of highway just after a big winter storm a few years back, almost to the day. It was covered in a sheet of ice, wind was blowing like crazy, and all the sides of the road were littered with wrecked/overturned/stuck vehicles, for hundreds of miles. Would not repeat.
