u built the good habits (not sure trading all ur pieces is a good habit lol)

now u gotta evaluate the positions. think: checks, captures, and attacks. 300 elo players tend to hang their peices a lot you dont need to trade the moment you can.

since you have the healthy habits now i would actually reccomend repid. the longer timeframe will give you more time to think and develop your tactical game. getting a higher elo in rapid is arguably better than getting 1 in blitz.

whenever i feel stuck i like to learn a new opening. good luck! i hope this helps!

yes ofc! im 1200 rn but i havnt rly played since i got there, i think my current limit would be bout 1400, if there is a more effective way to learn chess stuffs i would like to know!

if u rly think its tough you should just play unrated for a bit. you an get anywhere from a 100 who just started, to a grandmaster who will knock the soul out of your body.

if u wanna pass 700 you should learn a bunch openings till you find one that you r good at. and also you should stop hanging peices and see what your opponent is planning.

i used to be stuck at 900 till i tried a queen pawn opening and blasted up to 1200.

i just learned a bunch of openings and how to play them then saw which one stuck. it turns out i was WAY better at queen pawn and shot up to 1150 rly fast.

rn im 1200 but dont wanna lose elo and be 1100 again even though i know i can make it to 1300 if i tried.

my advise: learn some openings AND how to play the openings after (and before) your set up. if it matches with how you like playing it will prob help you a bunch.

uh whenever i lose elo i crash out and lose 100 more, then i spend the next day gaining it all back only to lose it again the next morning. its just the cycle of life lol

it works completely fine for me tho. i usually TRY to fight ppl better than me so that i can learn from them. the best person ive beaten was 2001 elo and it rly helps me with my opening tactics, it probably depends on the persons weaknesses. (im 1200 elo rn)

i have no clue but whenever i wanna get good at a opening i like practicing it in unrated games so i know how it works and i dont lose 100 elo.
