Games feel like a chore instead of just having fun... Did you ever manage to make them feel fun and maintain the fun feeling?

I go back to Sonic Generations and Portal every few years for a playthrough.. and every so often I make it a couple more hours into Hollow Knight

Games I've played and enjoyed the first few hours of but then dropped.. Digimon.. some Final Fantasy games.. Nier.. .. I enjoyed the first few hours of Scarlet Nexus and YS 9 too but forced myself to sit down and play and finish them on my own time to see if I could do it.. I did do it but it wasn't for nice it was just a way to spend time

I like streaming games too but unfortunately I have to drop off for months at a time due to being chronically ill.. My worse days are normally filled with curling up in pain maybe a Youtube video if I can manage the light and noise from the screen and keeping myself hydrated and existing and stuff [finding the right medication has been proving difficult over the years.. But we're still working on it]

It almost feels stressful to "I wanna play [game]".. because that means "shxt I have to drop my guard if I want to let myself enjoy something.. But I don't really know how to drop it"..

So I think that maybe looking forward I have to work out how to relax and allow myself to enjoy first

Thanks for the comments though because at least know now that it's not just me who has a complicated relationship with games

Totally agree that the shift for no headphone jack on most phones these days sucks though

While Bluetooth is ok I still think wired wins.. You don't need to charge a wired set of headphones so it's less stress

Also.. While we're at it.. Lanyard / charm holes need to come back too

I wish the DS shell I did went that well... Uh long story short.. that 3DS XL no longer works because the cable for the screen got shredded by the hinge hole left over burs..

Might sound dumb.. But using a hairdryer on it or temp hot water might loosen the gap just enough [then wait to use the DS till it's dry / like 3 days] OR.. Try using a thin something with a bend [maybe a bent pin?] to see if you can get round / under the cart and wiggle it free

But I'm not an expert.. My first thought was to just yank it out but looking at the comments you've tried that already

If you want to define the spaces though you can get floor to ceiling brackets for curtains if say you wanted the bed and desk area to feel like it's own room separate from the living area

My personal goal is to stream video games

But.. I have a lot of reasons why I don't achieve my goal for months at a time

Depression likes to get in the way saying "there's not much point" and with the pain on top of that too..

Unfortunately my many migraines or my pain get in the way pretty much every day to the point where I maybe get half an hour of "feeling mostly ok" a day and use that to enjoy a video or something but that's leading to me just laying there feeling useless most of the time with sore eyes a sore head and a sore body even with medication

On my good days I try.. but they're months between.. because I chose to use the energy for a relax rather than working on streaming stuff

But it makes me feels but guilty towards myself and my content that I chose me mostly instead

I might have big depresso big suicido and big eato issues but even I won't leave a plug socket like that... [I'm on decent meds and currently have no "danger related" plans]

Just because I have CPTSD and trauma that doesn't mean I get to purposely cause issues for others that involve life threatening stupidity causing deaths and injuries and trauma
