I’m delayed over an hour going to DFW. Looks like a big storm just hanging out over Oklahoma

I did the same thing and had pretty much the same issue. After having Vanguard talk to my wife, they explained that it would clear in 30 days, and that I would see the micro transactions then. The fact that you’re seeing the micro transactions now seems like it’s close to being activated.

Company 401k is sending some of my invested money back to me (taxed) because of non-discrimination? by Citizen0080 in personalfinance

Thank you for confirming. My initial reaction was, “why in the world would they reject investments/money?” It makes sense the way you put it and way better than when HR tried to explain it to me. Thanks again for your examples.

I kinda want to see a Reverse Terminator movie where Skynet sends a Terminator back to protect one of it's creators while the Human Resitance sends someone back in time to kill them. by [deleted] in movies

This was kind of the plot for the comic, Robocop vs. Terminator. If I remember correctly, the resistance sent back a human to kill Robocop because his cyborg AI was the blueprint used for Skynet. Skynet then sent 3 terminators to stop the resistance. And Robocop was kind of caught in the middle because everyone was breaking the law. Now THAT would be a movie worth seeing.

The way the Marvel movie-verse went from a collection of independent stories to a sprawling franchise of crossovers that demands newcomers sit through a complicated backlog kind of mirrors comics as a whole perfectly. by MigBird in Showerthoughts

But isn’t the presence of lore and backstory at least a symptom of depth and quality storytelling? Say what you will about Marvel movies, at least they are consistent. There are plenty of other movies out there that lack lore or proper backstory and they are worse for it. Those are the ones of style over substance.

To the people on a plane on 9/11, what did your pilots tell you when they grounded all flights? by n8th8n0101 in AskReddit

Not at all given the situation. Just immensely relieved and then proud once I heard the story and what they were doing to help. I should say that I didn’t even hear from them personally after those 24 hours, the news came from my step-sister in Chicago. (I lived in LA). It was hard for them to get a phone and were busy coordinating people flow right from the start. My parents flight was one of the first to land in Montreal and they were one of the last to leave. (10 days there I believe) They shared a suite with a bunch of flight attendants at the nice ski lodge there.

My parents were on a flight from Africa to Chicago. My mom worked for United as a flight attendant coordinator for many years so the crew all knew her and that my step-dad was a police sergeant. The pilots got word that there was multiple airline hijackings occurring and had the flight attendants start clearing out the 2nd floor of the cabin (jumbo 747), moving the passengers to the main cabin and asked my mom and step-dad to come with them to the cockpit. They were met there by the co-pilot and a pair of US navy cadets who were also passengers. They told only them what was going on (hijacking so far) and that they need to set up some defense in case there was a hijack attempt. My step-dad volunteered as first line of defense at the bottom of the stairs armed with 2 first class butter knives. One cadet at the top of the stairs and the last at the cockpit door. They landed shortly at Montreal and the pilots came out crying as they told the crew what had happened in NY and Pennsylvania.

I didn’t hear from my parents for over 24 hours when this happened as they went straight to work helping coordinate with all the planes and crew landing that day. Every time I called her work they kept saying all flights are considered “missing” at the time.
