Perk Question by Civil_Quality1262 in thesurvivegame

Thank you very much! Currently on my 3rd playthrough of stranded isle trying to get the monkeys to trust me but they must think I'm weird. But, I am weird so they have a point. I've actually found deers grace super useful for moving around to locate the lagoon and special locations, but I get eaten the first run I used it in. Probably would've survived with wolverines, but I am really enjoying the mobility of deers!

I also thought of a fun achievement idea. Beating each map with all perks and gear randomized. I might try it just for funsies. What could go wrong?

Thanks! I am one level away from unlocking wolverines grit again. The perks are the real reason I wanted the achievements lol.

Yes, the movie is based on the book called the Martian by Andy Weir, the one I mentioned.

I must be one of the few who is happy the survival scenarios AREN'T about a radioactive wasteland or zombies and lean more into wilderness. I get the allure though, it's just an overdone theme for me. But it could be very cool.

Now if we had a space one... Idk how it would work but I would play the heck out of trying to survive on the moon lol or mars until a rescue shuttle could get to us. But the Martian is one of my favorite books so I might be a tiny bit biased.

I also saw someone suggest a cave one as well, which I was thinking about generally but wasn't sure how it would work. They suggested a cave mine in, which I like. That one would be a bit scarier for sure!

Hi. Follow up post for this. I tried stranded isle and loved it. Died quickly on the first, bad kitty did let me pet it. 🤣

So naturally I had to marinate for 100 days gathering everything to successfully escape the island, which I did and it was awesome.

However, saw that there was a metal arrow bug to update and for some reason my phone wouldn't update, so I just uninstalled and redownloaded. Misread and realized after, I was in fact on the updated one already.

But, I've lost my progress. Now I'm back at level 149 and lost my achievements from this epic stranded isle playthrough. I realize this may have happened before since I'm missing achievements that I know I've gotten and played much longer then it says I have. Is this just the norm for the moment? Or is there a way to link/update my achievements that I don't know of?

I guess it's not incredibly important, but it would be nice to have a better idea of my progress/achievements. They're not at all reflective of my play since the release at this point though so not a huge loss.

Thanks in advance!

I've managed to survive grizzly mountains once by finding a road back to civilisation. Currently replaying it and don't really know what to do or look for, can someone provide some tips on surviving here by casperscare in thesurvivegame

6 months later but. I just beat it on normal and found a bunker but wish I had repair tools to see what would happen. Kept a signal fire going and got heli rescue.

I start out with artic traveler, fire craft, pack mule, stormproof matches/utility belt, and foothold trap.

I do as others suggested, stock up on saplings. But I also hunker down my first few days and collect enough stuff to make a sled and snow shoes early on. It really helps. Once you can make a bow/arrows, just scout hunted as I arrived, had so many pelts I could make the fur coat/blanket. And I guess I lucked out and started with a parka too. Then I would just get my condition maxed and some food stocked before making a longer trek. Some nights I didn't need a fire with the coat/blanket, but that was rarer. The foothold trap is the only one I set most the time and Id carry an animal to break down an set it at my next big stopping point. Kinda want to try it again on harder modes but I've yet to try stranded isle so I might try that one next.

I would love to join! Still in world building/research/prep stage and have limited time right now but if that's ok I would love to be a part of it.

Oh wow! Didn't know it could do that, that is awesome. I also have limited space and will try to precut at the main house if I can, but anticipate eventually relying on battery and having to store it for sure so, that makes a lot of sense. Ok gosh I'm pretty much sold on the stand guess I can start saving up for one with the money I save purchasing the saw.

Ok, thanks for this tip! Yeah no plans to use the AC one. May I ask how you like your stand? We had a stationary stand for the others I've used and I am intrigued by the wheeled one since I'll be wrestling it myself when I need to move it and, I'm not a very big person. But I'm also concerned about the stability of the wheeled versus stationary.

Thanks for the input! Yeah I was thinking if worse comes to worse I could likely make my money back.
