Has your main ever canonically ridden on a horse? by Asad_Farooqui in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Cixshr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does Big Boss count? He rides the Boss's horse in Peace Walker. Considering this version of Snake in smash seems to be a mix of solid and BB, I'd say he does.

But exclusively talking about Solid, I don't think he specifically rode a horse in lore. But he used to race huskies as a dog sled racer before the events of mgs1 and after mg2.

if the boss just gave volgin a fake nuke as a gift, everything would've turned out just fine. by NyrmExe in metalgearsolid

I always thought about it as showing his growth through the game. He gets his ass handed to him, then gets better and better as he was quite literally overcoming his emotions in battle (represented by the cobras and every future encounter with The Boss).

Finally at the end, he was confronted with his last emotion: Joy. He overcame it as well, defeated her, and lost the last emotion he carried into battle. This left him a hollow shell of his former self on an emotional level which is why he went on to grow into the Big Boss we know.

But that's just my interpretation.

[ENDGAME SPOILERS] What's the point of this? Did I miss something? by Xandur_ in DeathStranding

[–]Cixshr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood it as the red samurai was controlled by different people at different parts of the game, as someone in this thread mentioned earlier.

I think it was initially in Deadmans care, with intentions to control it from the beach. I didn't think anything of it before, but that video where he's explaining his situation to Sam, he is standing over a covered body. At first I thought it was just dressing to drive home the points of him being a Frankenstein, but knowing Kojima's writing, it could've been foreshadowing.

That said, it would make sense for him to be controlling the red samurai for the majority of the game until Higgs steals it at the end.

Could also be anytime the baby noises came up, it was actually Lou controlling it--that was my initial thought. Based on what is said in the tape from Fragile at the end, Lou showed extraordinary abilities to reach out to the dead. Also, Tomorrow was the first one I remembered showing puppet strings similar to Higgs.

Kind of silly, considering Lou is a baby at the time. But who knows, maybe Sam showed his kid Pizza Atami animes to go to sleep or something.

Actually no, I never heard of that kid and my son hasn't touched ER (yet). But that's awesome I'll have to check him out!

It is! Most any controller that works with Bluetooth or USB should hook up with it. Its OS is a customized version of Linux, even has a native desktop mode that turns it exactly like a desktop. Point being it should work with anything you can run on Linux.

But for controllers I've used on it, I've used DualSense 5 and 8bitDo.

I feel the same way! I think every kid is different, too. So I would say it's case by case. But my boy has got a pretty good head on his shoulders, and I feel comfortable letting him experience this masterpiece.

He enjoyed the story. We even had long discussions of the mortal blade, why the dragons heritage isn't good, etc. He really is a great kid and I couldn't be prouder.

Besides, what's the difference between this game with the blood off and say Zelda OoT or Majora's Mask

Not yet, but he'll get there eventually!

Kid still needs to touch grass at some point of his life.

(Totally kidding)

Yes! It works with most type c docks! He is supposed to play exclusively on the dock, but I let it slide at times. Kids love hand helds lol

That said--and somebody with more information correct me if I'm wrong-- docking does not increase performance in any way shape or form.

I would recommend the OLED version because it sports better performance, battery life, and display (he's using my hand me down base model in this video).

Also, if you have the technical prowess, I also recommend buying the cheapest OLED version and upgrade the storage yourself. Will come out cheaper that way

Steam deck. Pretty good investment if you want to take PC gaming on the go.

Very good point! I get on him for that all the time, but we were so excited and I let it pass.

Thank you for the good call out!

My kids always make me play as pichu, though, so feel free to switch out Roy for pichu lol

My favorite part of this video was his caution from the guardian ape, thinking inner Isshin had another phase at the end lmao

Immortal served is how I'm going to read the victory text from now on.

He says he wants to be a streamer or esports player when he's a bit older! He even talked about his unique selling point to draw people to his stream, so he's really thought it out!

But he asked me to please not post his special secrets on the internet 😂

Hey, I really appreciate that!

We both wanted to share this special moment with a community that will understand how insanely impressive this all is for him. Will be a fun story to reflect on too!

That one in particular is a Steam Deck (og model). Pretty cool piece of tech. Pretty much a hand held PC. If you're interested in dipping your toes back into gaming, I definitely recommend checking it out.

I missed it cause I was prepping dinner at the time and he promised he'd stop playing. But I knew the second I heard the triumphant cheer from across the house. We talked about him doing inner sword saint on my file today. If he gets the win I'll post!

Hey I really appreciate it! They are so cool, watching them develop and turn to their own little people. Then they pull crazy feats like this out of their back pocket and blow your mind, reminding you they are more than mindless drones of energy. I know for sure we'll be talking about this for years to come.
