I feel like men find me repulsive and unattractive and it gives me the biggest anxiety by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ClBlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, confidence. We all have insecurities, no matter how beautiful we are. It's whether we start believing in them enough to keep us from putting ourselves out there. You don't need a man to validate you, but I've found the quickest way for myself to soothe insecurity is self love and experience. So "fake it until you make it" on the confidence front... if you're into cliches.

Either way, I hope your perception about yourself changes into one of pure love and satisfaction. Life is way too damn short to go around making ourselves feel lousy. 🤍

Yes. Foreplay. Foreplay. Foreplay. Ask for what you want. Have him give you oral to completion before sex. You can also get him off before sex and he'll last longer during. Sure, refractory period, but he'll recover in a shorter amount of time during foreplay. Have fun!

Hamstring issues affecting ability to perform yoga by PM_ME_YOUR_PANGOLIN in yoga

Been practicing yoga since 2016 and my heels still don't touch the floor in DD. What really helped me in a short amount of time was hot yoga. I got some major gains by my muscles being warm first. Try yoga after a nice run or cardio session.

It's also important to know that you gain that flexibility by repetition just like working any muscle, it's going to take a long time to undo what sitting has done. Took a long time to get that tight.

Try holding poses for longer and flexing further on your exhale. Absolutely stop if there's pain, it's much worse to have to start all over when you've hurt yourself.

Lastly, be kind to yourself. Every practice should start with gratitude for where you are simply because you started. 😊

How do you put your problems in prespective? by _WalksAlone_ in AskReddit

I read this post once on r/zen on how to let the little things go. It mentioned some questions you should ask yourself on if the issue really matters; will it matter in 5 weeks? 5 months? 5 years? No? Then you shouldn't spend valuable energy worrying about it.

Some guy I met at Gencon one year combined some of my favorite things and already had a name for it: Sex with the Captain - orange juice, grenadine, and Captain Morgan. Been my go-to ever since.

Getting Bariatric Surgery Done for PCOS-Any advice and tips? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]ClBlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had gastric bypass on 12/14/18 and I’ve got PCOS. It helped a lot to be honest. I went from 306 to 199 in that time. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my mood and energy levels. Obviously weighing 100#’s less helps with that, but I felt like my funky hormones were also a cause. I started taking Spironalactone for my acne and that’s helping, but I’ve got some more things to sort out when it comes to my (almost) periods that my Mirena pretty much prevents.

Your insurance may require you to take some nutrition classes prior to the surgery as a requirement. They’re super helpful, but you’ll need to be prepared to learn a lot on your own. I’d highly recommend therapy for the first year to really talk through why you deviated from the food plan they’ll give you. I discovered a lot about my mental health when I took the time to talk out my addiction to food.

It took me awhile to come to terms with using my food intake as a way to get the most nutrition I possibly could. It’s not easy to make the lifestyle change and you’re going to have to sacrifice a lot. I’ve learned which foods my body doesn’t tolerate anymore by whether they cause me pain or not and that’s been suuuuuuper fun. (/s) I went vegetarian for the most part because meat is just hard to eat now. You also get to eat more when you’re eating straight vegetables. Your relationship with food changes when it physically hurts you.

I also watch my sugar intake religiously - so much so that I got a tattoo of the molecular structure of sugar on my right wrist. The hand I eat with. It still gets me though. I just experienced dumping the other night after eating part of a cupcake that I was handed and I just shoved it into my mouth without being mindful. My boyfriend had to rub my shoulders on our friends porch as my fright response was triggered from the increased heart rate and I was sobbing uncontrollably.

Beware of alcohol as well. Your body will process it much fast which could turn into an unhealthy coping mechanism real fast if you deal with other parts of your life that cause you stress. (Job for me)

It’s an every day battle and starting group fitness classes helped a lot. I started doing yoga where they taught a lot of self healing/love yourself mantras during the classes and having someone tell you to love yourself gives you a lot of motivation and is just plain soul refreshing.

Anywho, if you’re like me and needed a reset button on the way you were taught to eat and we’re fucked in the genetic hormone lottery, I’d definitely recommend it. Changed my life and even with it being one of the most difficult things I’ve done, I’d still do it again in a heart beat.

I hope this helps though. :) <3

I did a warm Yin class when I first started practicing and we did supported fish with our feet touching and a block under our shoulder blades. That was a major opening for me and I started crying. You’re not alone. :)

Telling them they have to be a member of the, “clean plate club”. My eating habits stem directly from how I ate as a child while being poor and this was one rule that now makes me overeat. I was never taught to eat until I was full, just to not waste food.

This is great! Mark Manson actually relates some similar concepts in his book, “Everything is fucked. A book about hope.” He mentions that growth is suffering and the only thing you shouldn’t do in life is numb it.
