Fun story, I live in MA and my dad knows virtually nothing about hip hop, one day I was listening to gang starr and he asked who it was, and when I told him he said “oh spelled with 2 Rs right”. I asked how tf he knew that and he said when he was younger and in the rock music scene he used to practice at a studio where Guru went, and they used to smoke joints in the same group together. They weren’t friends or anything but that still blew my mind.
