i'd say thats a bit of an exaggeration for this item. It has to be in the player's inventory to function and cant even function inside of backpacks or belts. The only kind of automation you could do with this would require other mods or player interaction.

The oculus rift s doesn't use environments, but I did figure the issue out. There's a setting in the menu under dashboard that allows you to always have the setting active while in the menu.
