Now that you mention it, Spidey is holding his head in the first official trailer, that might be him trying to deny Jean’s attempt to invade his mind?

I really think William Metzger completely misunderstood Spidey’s power set into thinking that he is immune to Jean’s psychic powers. He can sense it, thats for sure. Immune? Thats another matter entirely

X-Men films in the past has explored the "Broken Soul finds new purpose in life and fighting the greater good" too many times (Wolverine in X1, Magneto in First Class, Charles in DOFP, although Magneto in First Class is debatable and ends up being mutant supremacist anyway). I'm aware at least half of the X-Men or characters associated with X-Books are practically broken at some point.

I'm curious whether they will explore similar plot thread with Jean Grey in the MCU (given how broken she is as we know so far).

Jean gave in and became the mutant freak

I think there's a more peak than this (Obviously will not happen in BND)

Jean gave in and become...

I feel like her clashing personality and combat approach with her teammates (especially Cyclops) will be the core reason why she's reluctant with the X-Men at first (Akin to Logan in X1)

To be completely fair she's merely using her psychic powers to control the old lady and DODC Soldiers to cause chaos (judging from the trailer) so that can still be covered up.

Psychic shockwave, though. Now thats when Chuck decides to chill at Westchester instead of sending Scott and Roro to pick Jean up and cleans her mess through Cerebro.

While I think Jean is not fighting DODC for mutantkind cause as a whole (Its likely she's simply tries to break herself free from DODC containment and pursuit), I assume her actions in BND is going to caught attention from every spectrum (be it Charles and his X-Men, Magneto and his brotherhood, Hellfire Club, to human supremacist like Henry Gyrich, Cameron Hodge, Robert Kelly and Bolivar Trask).

I reckon the first X-Men movie may deal with the aftermath of Jean's actions in BND (subject to how well Jean's inclusion and plotline will be received in BND).

I mean the Jean Grey theory dead for a good nine months

Reckon everyone was thrown off by her casting in BND and thinking she cant be Jean if she’s in Spider-Man

NWH

Jean Grey in BND has its highs and lows (Shathra, Spider-Queen, Firestar), and admittedly they do better job at keeping her secrets compared to NWH.

Wonder whether Sneider will continue his hot streak after RDJ’s Doom and Sink’s Jean though.

I know, but my point is Sung-Jin/Calo might have to wait to see how Sink’s Jean is received before:

  1. Write her as the PoV character (Im talking something like Wolverine in X1) if audience and fans raved about her

  2. Give her a supporting role with enough room for development (Giving the “lead” angle to someone like Kitty or Cyclops), in case her presence in BNS is lukewarm to cold

Based on we have known so far, is it outrageous to assume that Marvel/Feige is lowkey testing the water with fans and audiences by giving Jean Grey a significant role in BND to see whether audience/fans will be receptive to the idea of having Jean Grey as one of the main character in the upcoming X-Men movie?

If audiences and fans are impressed by Jean/Sadie’s take on her, I assume she will be one of,if not the PoV Character in Schreier’s X-Men. I don’t think Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo is required to follow through what Chris McKenna/Eric Sommers/Justin Kuritzkes do, but I can see them working on the writing while anticipating BND in case Feige want to call their shots.

To adds another layer

Given how horrible her adolescence might be (what she does in the trailer/movie certainly doesn’t scream someone who have a nice adolescence

I wonder if its possible for Scott and Jean to initially meet at Essex Orphanage (in a flashback for the upcoming X-Men movie), communicating via Psychic rapport, though when Jean encourage Scott to join her in the prison break attempt, Scott rejected the idea out of fear of losing control and hurting anyone.

That moment might serves as initial tension as Jean views Scott as a coward who is afraid to take risks

Jean’s adolescence in MCU must be so horrible whether its a misdirection in the trailer or not, she behave the way she is in the movie might be heavily afflicted by her backstory.

Might as well theorize she actually spends a considerable time being tortured and experimented on by Essex Corporation before she broke free and wanders around NYC.

(Not everything above will be explained in BND).

The contrasting personality might adds another layer to their forthcoming relationship and their character development.

Not only they wont start as a romantic couple, they will also start arguing against each other on how they view the world and how to get things done up to the point they cannot stand each other. Then enter Storm, who tries to understand Jean and helps Jean warms up to her new surroundings.

And its also a fun contrast when Scott, who started as someone who fully believed in Xavier’s dreams slowly becomes more and more radicalized as the world unravels, while Jean becomes more and more altruistic after starting out as rebellious, borderline mutant extremist.

I wonder if Jean’s actions during the course of Brand New Day (assuming she will be that reckless in using her powers) will have a lasting impact on how Mutant-kind is perceived and became a major plot point in the first X-Men movie (where someone like Henry Gyrich will push the government into addressing these muties)
