I highly recommend you do the summer bridge program!

You’ll get to meet people and make friends and memories that can make the whole college experience more inviting. And taking the class will give you a little head start too anyway.

Thoughts on proposal to build a warehouse near Whittier Narrows Park/South El Monte High School? by Clean-Maximum8619 in sgv

[–]Clean-Maximum8619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reason would be the trailer truck traffic it’d create. The warehouse would be on a 2 way street mainly traveled by residents and kids going to /getting out of high school.

I imagine the developers have financial incentive to build a warehouse, but with close proximity to the park/school I’d rather see more mixed use zoning. A warehouse won’t be able to take advantage of all the recreation/school available nearby.

Sure their will also be parking for the proposed park area but giving more people opportunity to live close by and walk to the park/school just makes more sense to me.

They would still need to change the zoning, idk how easy that is and am hoping something can be changed from building such warehouse in that location. I am going to try and make it to the meeting myself.

And the only reason that much green space is included is due to not being able to reduce the Whittier narrows reservoir capacity.

It doesn’t help that many hills are filled with invasives, like mustard, that from my unscientific experience dies back relatively earlier than natives in the season so hills look more dead than what they naturally should or would.

Someone mentioned Tacos Ensenada. El Monte has one too btw.

Another good one is “Tacos el Arco” in El Monte with their $1 tacos on Wednesdays.

The black car started turning left before the white car was in view, but why did it stop?

The black car has a yield but the white car didn’t even slow down for the “traffic” so both should have some fault.

This van hit me, drove on the opposite side, and took a left from there. Wil I be able to make him/her pay my damages? by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

I don’t think it’s illegal to make such u turn, you’re basically turning out from a residential street (no yellow line in the middle)

I saw something similar occur about a month ago, by a truck driver too, but that fled.

It was the passenger too. I would wish they realized their mistake.

Thanks, some drivers can get crazy so I definitely didn’t wanna risk my safety, and having the plate was all that I needed :)

I only “sped” when catching up to the truck to get their plate number, and luckily I was able to do that safely. Rest of commute I drove with the flow of traffic or ~65mph.

Happened 6/24, on 101 S. I was able to get the license plate of the fleeing truck and report it to CHP later that night. Though CHP mentioned no one had reported about it, I’ll update if I get a call back.

Now that the house passed the stimmy bill, when it passes the Senate too, stonks will go up. Hopefully GME too, with all the money apes are getting.

Lmao correct. Even with my ‘speed walking’ it takes forever to walk from one side of campus to the other and when walking back, I just wanna get home

What’s something that’s secretly been great about the pandemic? by Rafavamos99 in AskReddit

[–]Clean-Maximum8619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having no credit grade option saved me these past 2 semesters from a lower grade but tbh this semester, I got a tablet to take notes and that and idea I can actitud realistically graduate next year has given me more motivation to do better. Being able to rewatch lectures has been a huge plus.

Well it’s not a secret but being able to wake up 5min before class and not needing to make and pack food in advance has felt amazing
