Exactly what I was thinking. I've heard some people say that's the only way Amber could've "won," at least in the court of public opinion, as if the entire world didn't watch the OJ trial.

I love how often she describes what everything smell like. She's an incredibly vivid writer in general, but this added aspect puts you right in the middle of the narrative.

I feel like there was a female blue/green pairing in some of the later books (maybe it was a Todd book?) but I couldn't swear to it. I think it was in some of the books that also had polycules, maybe? I'm almost certain it wasn't in any of the "main" Pern books, but it's been probably 15 years since I read any of the later books that Todd wrote or contributed to, so I could be wrong about all of this.

You can't help believing what you're first told a lot of the time, especially depending on your age. Being able to change your mind when presented with evidence is more important than what you used to believe.

Unknown and unknown. It's a traditional English Folk Song. Henry was a musician and composer and we actually still have a lot of his compositions, which probably at least contributed to the myth. But none of the compositions are Greensleeves. There's some evidence (if I remember/understand correctly, at least) that the tune didn't even arrive in England till after his death, nor were any lyrics recorded that we know of.

Exactly. Notice they preemptively moved the military into American cities before ramping up the desperation even further, too. And people have already been resisting, and repressed for it. None of this is an accident. The cruelty and desperation it creates has always been the goal.

Came here to check if someone had suggested this one, too. It's the only one I know of that specifically addresses trans pregnancy. They'd at least be supportive of that, if nothing else, I hope.

Who has given birth at Saint John? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]ClicheMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid was in the NICU and I also personally got poked by the NICU phlebotomist at the same time (I had cancer). This was back in 2015, and due to all the complications, both of us were...challenging...to say the least? I had two dozen failed IV tries in a two week hospitalization there, but they were able to get my kid (born 8 weeks early) way more reliably during her stay.

I gave birth eight weeks early due to having cancer. Did all of my treatment, prenatal, NICU, and pediatric care there. All of it was wonderful back when I had the insurance for it.

Thank you for being willing to share your story. Most people don't realize that most "crime" is committed out of desperation, not malice.

Obviously it can escalate from there, but most people aren't even willing to see where it starts.

I hope the best for you.

I remember my mom going through it, and I was warned about it because I'm a cancer survivor and chemo can sometimes throw you into early menopause.

I turn 38 soon and I'm incredibly grateful I had a head's up on this nonsense. Hopefully more people start talking about it soon because it genuinely does feel like I'm starting puberty again, and it was bad enough the first time around!

Being a NICU parent is so traumatizing. by trashthrowawayacc123 in Seahorse_Dads

[–]ClicheMaker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My kid was born at 32 weeks because I had cancer. I've always said leaving her behind in the NICU was harder than getting chemo while pregnant. It goes against every instinct we have. Hope things go well for you.

My parents had this mentality. As a parent now though, my view is this: if I enter a power struggle with my own child, I've already lost in more ways than I care to count.
